It's situated on the Caraiman mountain, nearby the Bucegi plateau. Can be easily reached by the cable car Busteni Babele and 30 min on foot. There is a wonderful view of the Prahova valley Busteni area and the Baiului mountain over the valley. Looking to the left you can admire the wellknown wall of the Valea Alba climbing zone. To the right you''ll find some plateau acces routes, the Piatra Arsa sports complex and the skiing area of Sinaia. You must visit it.

Cantacuzino Castle

Reviewed By Jazzumbo - Brasov, Romania

After confiscating the castle, the communists wiped out all the furniture, so the castle is currently empty. You could figure out its past splendor by looking at the ceilings, walls, doors and stained glass windows. However, the ball room is still majestic and when the guide opens the door to the balcony, well ... that view is breathtaking.
There's a restaurant in the castle's cellar and an art exhibition on the top floor.

Manastirea Caraiman

Whether you're religious or not, I think the views you get to see are worth the effort to climb through on the narrow staircase through the forest (or along the asphalt road) to the Caraiman Church.
I have been here for the first time many years ago. Back then, there was only a small church and a small house where the abbot used to live. Thanks to large donations from the State and from other private donors, the place looks like a touristic resort but anyway, there is a lot of nature to admire around. Just thinking about the streams and the forest around the church makes me smile.
The monastery can be visited daily from 7 AM to 8.30 PM. I'm unsure whether they offer accommodation for tourists, some monasteries in Romania do that, and for a very small fee.

Busteni Cable Car

Reviewed By Liora V - Israel

Waited 2.5 hours to get on as only two cars and a long queue. Unsue about opening hours some sites say 7.30 some 8.30 and the official site says9. We arrived at 8.30 and it was working. We were told by locals not to be tempted by the drivers offering a ride to the top as it takes a long time and they are actually not allowed all the way so you have an hour walk to where the cable car stops.

Muzeul Memorial Cezar Petrescu

Reviewed By Andrea_Detto - Dubai, United Arab Emirates

We visited this memorial house early in the morning, few minutes after the opening hour. The house in itself is interesting, showing the private life of Cezar Petrescu, one of the most famous Romanian writers.
Unfortunately the visit was ruined by the worst guide I could remember of. She was hurrying us from room to room as she wanted to get rid of us as quick as possible.
Very brief descriptions of the rooms as "here the writer was writing in summer, here in winter, here he used to read books".
Nice house, very well maintained.
