I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The owner and staff are professional and extremely friendly and helpful. The atmosphere and food are Tibetan and fantastic. I had just about the best lamb chops/ribs I have ever eaten, some really good meat-filled bread, and some delicious nutty biscuit-like treats, but the best thing was the enormous flask of hot milk tea with a wooden bowl to drink from. The restaurant is slightly inconvenient to get to, and prices are a bit higher than most places in rural China, but it's totally worth it.

Norden Cafe is a perfect place to relax and unwind while visiting Labrang and its Monastery, located right across the street. Whether its just for a coffee/tea or a full delicious meal, you'll be able to take in the thoughtful mix of Tibetan, Chinese, and Western atmosphere, which is reflected in both the food and its customers (you may even get to sit next to a Tibetan monk). The hosts are so kind and generous, and will even help you with any travel tips you need! Wifi is also great.

As a vegetarian, I found it a bit difficult in finding a place offering delicious Tibetan food that did not include meat. This is not a vegetarian restaurant but its menu offers many dishes suitable for vegetarians (tofu, vegetables, momos,â¦). Excellent value, the food was outstandingly tasty and the service excellent. The kitchen is spotlessly clean. Private eating rooms are available, the ones in Tibetan style are lovely. A little bit difficult to find as located off the main road : walking down the main road, with your back to the monastery, take the road to the right opposite Crystal Hotel. The restaurent is on the right side, sort of half way down the road.

I visited this hotel and restaurant for the first time this year and plan to make it a regular stop when I am in town. The menu is excellent and provides a variety of both chinese and local Tibetan dishes. Everything I have tried there has been delicious and they have great service as well a beautiful environment. I highly recommend Tibetan Foods at Tibetan Family hotel.
