The Green Way Cafe

The Green Way Cafe is a lovely, family run, vegetarian cafe based in the centre of Matlock, Derbyshire. We are offering something a little bit different to the run of the mill cafes around, everything we do is homemade, creating imaginative and delicious

Whilst on a week's break in Matlock we decided to try this local Bangladeshi restaurant. What a find. Greeted by staff member and shown to our pre booked table ( in hindsight perhaps this was not necessary) for their Wednesday night special. Restaurant already busy, but not overly so as to distract from the attentive staff. Ordered our selection from their special 4 course menu. Good excellent and very beautiful presented. Good to feel that we were not overly rushed as secret a out for the evening. Staff remained aytentive, but not overly so, for the evening.Highly recommended. Unlicensed so you need to take you own alcoholic drinks ( soft drinks can be purchased however).

The second we walked in staff were welcoming. Food was delicious. My daughter couldn't decide between halloumi or chicken skewers so was made a mixture which pleased her! Nothing was too much trouble and we were treated like friends rather than customer. Would highly recommend. Thank you

Nooch

Lovely people, great location but sorry to say that the food was bland and uninteresting. We looked forward to an evening meal following a good day of walking. Everything was freshly cooked and we anticipated interesting tasty vegetarian meals. There was nothing wrong with the food but when you go out to eat you expect to be served something tasty and special. We eat vegetarian at home and had hoped for at least the standard that we prepare in our own kitchen. Unfortunately we were disappointed. However it seems that many others have been satisfied so perhaps we chose the wrong things. Perhaps better as a cafe than a restaurant where expectations are much higher.
