This excellent pub can be found between Mount Hawke & Porthtowan on the coast road. On arrival you will receive a warm welcome from the lovely Buffy, who can provide you with a nice drink whilst you look at their very comprehensive menu for something to eat. The pub looks great and drinks were nice. We was deciding whether to have food or not but when the chef came out of the kitchen with dreadlocks uncovered it put us off completely. Very unhygienic :( Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. The gentleman in question is not one of our chefs but the KP (and so does no food handling) but I have passed on your comments to the team.I'd like to reassure you that the hygiene is taken exceptionally seriously at The Unicorn on the Beach and we are thrilled to have been awarded a rating of five by Cornwall Council (the highest you can receive) as testament to this.

I had a lovely birthday supper where staff really made me feel special, with a complimentary glass of fizz and a lovely wrapped bag of homemade traybake to take home - a really lovely touch and showed their attention to detail as well as great customer service.The pub is quite delightful, atmospheric and quaint with many small areas to sit and drink and eat, though there is a small dining room at the back.Food was well cooked and delicious - our party tended to have fish of the day and steak and a vegetarian dish all being tasty and quite large portioned. Certainly one of the best dining places in Truro. It has a great bar with many selections of gin and wine and beer.
