My brother in law comes here quite often and he proposed me to give a try.Once in, they welcomed us and invited us to sit, you find here families or just couples, it is not a place for business people, in my opinion. The atmosphere is indeed quite cool, informal but cozy. What is wonderful is the menu, it' just a shame we could not eat more.We ordered some mixed antipasti (salami and cheese) then risotto with ossobuco and a bottle of red wine. Portions are quite big and food is really tasty.I will come back again, hopefully nothing will change by then.

We have been recently to this restaurant which offers several Tuscan dishes and wines. For our lunch we opted for one set menu with bruschette, maccheroni and dessertand a risotto with porcini. A complimentary amuse bouche arrived with the bruschette which was Pappa al Pomodoro. Surprisingly when the pasta arrived, they did not look like the traditional small tubes, neither like the Maccheroncini from the Marche region.Without doubt the pasta dish is named everywhere else Stracci or Maltagliati.Nothing too bad if we didn't't have them the day before at home. The risotto was lacking of melted cheese or butter. The staff is ok but it seems they are under pressure from the beginning; I guess they were trying to accomodate all the clients in one room and there is a feeling of being pushed for decisions. We did not aim to stay long hours at all but that feeling did not make us totally relaxed. The wine list is a bit old fashioned, like most of their guests probably.Dear Aussies, thanks for your visit in our restaurant. All your comment are welcome to improve our service. We are sorry in the mistake of pasta Maccheroni only in Tuscany are made different that in the other part of Italy. In Tuscany are little square of pasta like a Lasegna pasta and it would be seasoned with different kind of sauce ( duk sauce, boar sauce, vegetable sauce ecc) That is the beauty of the Italian cuisine! if you need to deepen the knowledge of tuscan cuisine come to have a cooking class in our farmahouse near -lucca and Florence. You will found all information on our facebook and web new web site starting from november We wait you !

I Tri Basei

I had dinner there with a collegue of mine during a business trip in San Donato, this november. The environment is simple and basic. The service is kind, quick and effective, but above all the food is really very very good; I tried "straccetti di coda di bue", and "tagliatelle with porcini and nocciole, really to be recommended. At the end, price really affordable (appetizer, pasta, dessert, wine for 25). Overall, really a good experience
