We had fresh lilokoi (passion fruit) margaritas and dinner here and lingered afterward because the atmosphere was so nice. Definitely would eat here again!

This place is tucked away off the road and we had walked by many times without even noticing it was there. On the recommendation of our hotel owner(who has never steered us wrong) we tried this place out on our last night in Santa. The space is outdoors set under a tree, hence the name, and was beautiful and understated. Our server was excellent and explained any dishes we had questions on. She followed up often but was not intrusive in the least. Our dishes, split between four people, were delicious. We tried a number of small plates and a few of the larger ones and were very happy with them all. The tuna was the stand out favourite for everyone. Itâs not the cheapest place but I didnât feel that it was overpriced for what we received. Thanks a lot of your review, you described perfectly our idea of Bajo el Ãrbol. Wow I was blown away at how good the food is at this hidden gem of a beach restaurant. We went on a Saturday for lunch and it was a real treat. Iâm told the food is always different depending on the market availability. This is a top place.
