Ranco is a small village alongside the lake just up from busier Angera - traffic mainly drives straight through as it's not exactly a tourist hot spot, with the ferry stopping by only a couple of times daily. The cafe is located right next to the jetty, with marina on one side and old harbour plus neatly tended park on the other. There's plenty of outside seating and staff are prompt with service. We ordered hot drinks and a panini to share as it was sufficient for two. It was nice sitting with a cool breeze wafting by and watching the antics of a sparrow doing a begging act for titbits. There's a small car park next to the cafe with an hour's limit (not that anyone seemed to adhere). It just felt a relaxing spot away from the normal hustle and bustle at other places round the lake.The other nice thing about the cafe is they hold evening music sessions during the summer months.

After a stroll in Arona narrow streets you reach an open space piazza. On one side is this lovely and clean bakery that offers fresh cakes and coffee. Service is nice and waiters are polite. It has the perfect settings for afternoon cup of coffee and let the time pass by.We enjoyed it.
