Indian Garden

A truly amazing and inspiring 3 course meal. Freshly cooked poppadoms and nan breads let alone incredible mains and starters. Great presentation and lovely staff. After a truly disappointing meal at the Storehouse for twice the price a few days before, this was a real tonic for eating out in Kirkwall. Will be back for sure. Thank you.

Stromness Chinese Takeaway

The food is great, generous portions and loads to choose from, fast service and reasonably priced. We've been getting takeaways from there every week since opening nearly 2 years ago.

Empire Chinese Restaurant

Came here for a takeaway after a busy day. It was myself and two other companions ordering but all ordering separately. My first friend ordered crispy shredded beef in a spicy sauce and noodles with bean sprouts. Overall tasted fine but was extremely concerned about how fast the food was brought out in the restaurant for us to collect. My friend had ordered and the food was out and ready to eat in under 5 minutes. My second friend had salt and chilli chicken (again who ordered after my first friend). The taste was average but would do for tonight’s dinner I had ordered a duck chow mein and was shocked to see that when I started eating the food, there was a thick black hair on a piece of duck right at the top of the meal. (See picture below) I had to leave the meal as I was put off by the hairThe duck chow mein was £7, salt and chilli chicken was £6.50 for not much chicken and over a tenner for the beef and beansprouts. Was far too expensive and just not up to standard at all. Will not be returning. Tourists avoid!
