What a day at the zoo! My wife and I wanted to have a really special experience at the Australia Zoo so we sprung for the Aussie Animals private tour. Our guide was so knowledgeable and informative. As we were shuttled to each location we were met with friendly staff and wonderful surprises. We chose to customize our tour a bit and decided to go with the Koala experience instead of the photo only. I highly recommend the experience, to hold the Koala and get some one on one time with the keeper was great. We had a full day at the zoo... from the Kangaroo to the echidna we didn’t meet an animal that didn’t live up to the hype. As a long time fan of Steve Irwin and the Crocodile Hunter show the Australia Zoo has preserved his memory and honored his life through wildlife conservation. The Crocoseum show intro was emotion as well as inspiring while talking me back in time to when I used to watch the Croc hunter diaries... all and all I can’t say enough about the zoo, the staff and they’re continuing goal for wildlife protection and conservation. I will go back some day!

Beautiful calm well laid out gardens with a lagoon filled with water birds and a war memorial, including a 64 feet grey marble obelisk on a plinth, commemorating the Anzacs; kiosk had a large menu and food was good - outdoor table settings under banyan fig trees were beseiged by ,rainbow lorikeets, blue faced honey eaters, ibis, miners and a kookaburra, which added to the fun. A free zoo is adjacent to the gardens. While I don't like animals in cages, some of these had been rehabilitated after being hit by cars and were unable to fend for themselves in the wild. All animals were in good condition and it was a delightful way for children to interact with and be introduced to species.

We went to the croc farm yesterday and where blown away by their hospitality. We arrived and were quickly served, as the tour guide John was just starting to do his talk we joined in. John took us around and feed some hungry Crocodile's and gators. He also taught us alot about water safety. John was very funny and at the end of the tour we also got to hold Harley a baby Crocodile. I also got to give him a kiss. John and the other tour guide where very aware that it was a hot day and had a crew on standby back at the restaurant for anyone who felt hot. Once we concluded the tour and held a baby croc we went and had lunch. It was very hot still and as the tour had a bis full of over 50's on it as well we sat down with a cold drink, after pre ordering a croc burger. As it was very hit I asked if some more fans could be turned on and John was very quick to respond. He even got us both a cold glass of water. The staff made sure to come and do regular checks to make sure that we did not need anything. I felt very happy going away from the croc farm having had a great experience and also trying croc for the frist time which to me tasted like kebab.

We came here on a rainy day and close to closing time so we were the only people there. We were very lucky to be given a personal tour by Jamie who gave us a lot of information about the inhabitants and also fed the Meerkats while we were there. It was a fascinating experience to get so close to our most venomous snakes with a thick plate of glass between us. Where else would you get that sort of opportunity? There are normally regular shows scheduled with feeding the crocs, pictures with the koalas etc. but due to COVID they're not currently on. It didn't matter to us, we still had a very enjoyable visit and would definitely visit again.

Mathew was our favourite guide & feeder. It was informative and well worth the visit as recommended by Dave in reception. As a hotel guest we received a discount which was a nice benefit and some nice recognition for a change. It may seem cruel and small to some people such as the tree huggers or ultra vegans, but as stated by Matt these are problematic crocodiles which would otherwise be destroyed or wounded and left to die slowly In pain if not captured and finished off. Instead they get to live the rest or their lives getting fed and cared for by a true Aussie hero “George” He has also been caring for and housing “Cassius” a male saltwater crocodile who is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's largest crocodile in captivity over 2 decades. Well worth the visit.

We told the travel agent that we wanted to hold a koala and they arranged a visit to this sanctuary. I believe this is a special experience one has to book beyond the general admission ticket, but well worth it as it's the opportunity to hold a cute critter. The people who work here are so informative and kind. We learned so much about koalas during our visit and got a private visit into the female sanctuary to snap photos and peek at them sleeping. During the remainder of the visit we went into the kangaroo pen and could feed and pet the kangaroos. Also had a trip to the animal hospital where they are doing incredible work on all types of critters especially now that the fires are effecting animals in the wild. 120 volunteers work with the animals which is impressive in it's own right. All in all, a highly enjoyable experience.
