Top 10 Tours in Yerevan, Armenia

November 2, 2021 Enedina Augsburger

Long fought over by warring empires, the city of Yerevan survived centuries of foreign occupation, finally becoming independent with the fall of the Soviet Union. This capital city, a center of Armenian culture, has celebrated its freedom with a flurry of construction and a growing population. Despite this push forward, history survives in Yerevan - The Institute of Ancient Manuscripts houses books dating back to the 9th century, and the ruins of the Erebuni Fortress, built in 782 BC, still stand.

We went on private a family trip with Armenian Adventures in July 2019 and couldn't be happier about the service we got . From the moment we sent the first messages to the moment we left Armenia we did not have anything to worry about. Marine helped us a lot, was flexible with our itinerary and replied promptly to our emails. When we got and left Armenia she also made sure to contact us personally, which is very nice of her! Our driver Armen was such a nice and friendly person, plus his car was a brand new super clean Mercedes minivan. We had water and wifi in the car as well - doesn't get much better than this, right?! Thanks a lot Marine, Armen and Armenian Adventure team - we had an amazing time!!!

The tour and the guide were great, we really enjoyed everything. The places we saw were beautiful and full of history. The guide (Ani) knew the difference between facts, and fiction and myths. She always had something interesting to answer for a lot of questions we had and overall was very nice. We were even surprised that not only the car had wifi spot, but that it was working well throughout the trip.

We love to travel. Armenia is the 51st country on my list, but it still managed to surprise me. Today we had interesting and intense time, but we didn’t tired. We saw many beautiful places - the endless azure Lake Sevan, we were climbed by the cable car to the mountain, where skiing in the city of Tsaghkadzor takes place in winter, admiring the beauty of the Caucasus Mountains, we also visited the stunningly beautiful monastery in the rock, where the spear that the warrior pricked for a long time was kept crucified Jesus Christ, we got real aesthetic pleasure from visiting the Greek-style temple in Garni village and many other interesting places. I can definitely recommend this tour! I wish good impressions to all the tourists!!!!

Have a rest on the shore of Lake Sevan, pearl of this mountainous country and one of the largest freshwater high-altitude lakes in Eurasia. You will also visit Sevanavank, a monastery complex on Sevan peninsula. Currently a religious seminary functions here, which is not readily open to the public, the peninsula can be named the very point from where the whole beauty of the Lake Sevan is seen. You will then see Dilijan, otherwise referred to as "Armenian Switzerland" for its fantastic natural forests. The town is a part of Dilijan National Park. The next stop is Haghartsin, a 10th century monastery which has been recently renovated by donation of Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, who was impressed by the monastery when visited it. Goshavank is the final stop surrounded by green territories. Enjoy great views!
