The Prespa region has a long history and contains many cultural monuments worth a visit. As a national park, the nature of the area is special. Its flora and fauna have uniqueities that many of them you can get to know. Trails near the lake or up the mountain accessible to everyone. A four-season destination that can give the visitor many different experiences. Our love for the area makes us not want to stop discovering it but at the same time predisposes us to want to share with our visitors our knowledge and bring them closer to what is called Prespa Lakes.

Nikos is the best choice, if you really want to see the place’s secrets. Hike tours, off road tours, cultural visits to monasteries (the famous “askitaria”) and caves are some of the services offered. If you’re interested in wild mushrooms, Nikos will take you to the locals to buy. Finally you will be introduced to tsipouro and local traditonal music.

2. Albania & Greece in one day from Ohrid

Ohrid, North Macedonia Experience Balkan

In one day, we will be able to experience a piece of the culture and natural beauty of both Albania and Greece. We will explore Korca in Albania and Kastoria in Greece, two beautiful and very different towns. Our first stop for the day will be the town of Korca, a small town, that is turning out to be one modern town in Albania, while the traces of communist isolation are still visible. We will be able to visit the Museum of Medival art, with some of the most beautiful preserved Medival objects from the surrounding. After the Korca sightseeing, we will continue our way to Greece in the town of Kastoria. Kastoria lies on the shores of the Orestiada lake, where you can see the most beautiful scenes of pelicans and cormorants swimming around. You can have lunch or a coffee break in some of the restaurants and cafes on the lake shores. We have a chance to visit the Cave of the Dragon on a guided tour. If the weather allows it, we can make the return trip through Galichica National Park.

Inclusions: Pick-up and drop off at your hotel or any preferred location in Ohrid, All transfers with a comfortable A/C car or minivan, Experienced English-speaking tour guide/driver

Exclusions: Food and drinks, Entrance fees, Personal expenses

We have visited 3 Balkan countries, and Ohrid was one of the highlights of our trip. Its much more prettier than on the photos, and wster is perfectly clear. Tour did meet our expectations, and to daul away without the guide it would be pretty but much less interesting. Our guide bob was easy going polite and interesting and he made our day. Hope to come back here with my family and stay longer, and for sure i will contact Balkan experience again.. They are very professional.

Would highly recommend Epirus.Travel and this particular tour we went on. We booked this very late which was no bother to Giorgos ( George ) who advised us where and what to do from the start! Less than 10 hours later he was waiting for us at the port for our days adventure to begin! What a day it was! George went out of his way to give us more than we expected from the tour, giving us a complete full days tour of everything and more on the list! He is extremely knoweledgable, great fun to be with, very accommodating, easy going and immediatly made us feel at ease comfortable and relaxed in his hands as he took us on our adventure. Nothing was to much trouble and he ensured we had the best days travel! Sivota, Parga and of course the Acheron River are breathtaking - there was just so much to see, so much to explore from beautiful beaches, sea side coastal towns steeped in history and charm, ancient forests and olive plantations, ruins, fortresses, castles and not forgetting the mythical crysal clear waters of the Archeron springs! I enjoyed every second of the day and it really was the highlight to our weeks holiday in Greece. I would highly recommend doing any trip with George. You will be in the best hands. I look forward to going back to Greece and in particular the Epirus region and will 100% go through Epirus.Travel and do another adventure. I cant wait!
