Port Isaac (Cornish: Porthysek) is a small and picturesque fishing village on the Atlantic coast of north Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The nearest towns are Wadebridge and Camelford, both ten miles away. Port Gaverne, commonly mistaken to be part of Port Isaac, is a nearby hamlet that has its own history. The meaning of the Cornish name is "corn port", indicating a trade in corn from the arable inland district.

A private and bespoke trip from London to Cornwall (Return) Doc Martin is filmed in and around the beautiful village of Port Isaac on the north Cornwall coast. It can be difficult to get there if you don't have a vehicle, so let me do all the work for you. A fully personal and private tour at your pace. You will be picked up direct from your Hotel or accommodation in a comfortable private vehicle by me, (Richard) I'm a huge fan of the show and passionate about Cornwall.  Day one will focus on the Village and locations such as Mrs Tishell's Pharmacy, The School, The Pub, and of course the Doc's Cottage and Surgery. Plus plenty of time to try a traditional Cornish Pasty or Cream Tea. Day two will cover other important filming locations used in the show around the village of Tintagel, and surrounding area. During the spring and summer months you may even catch a glimpse of the cast and crew filming in the village.

Inclusions: Hotel pickup, Hotel drop-off, Driver/guide, Professional photographer guide, Private tour, Transport by private vehicle, Bottled water

Exclusions: Overnight Accommodation - Assistance and recommendations provided at all budgets.

I'm really glad I booked with Richard's Tours and certainly wasn't dissapointed! I had other things on in the morning so with short notice, Richard responded to agree a meet in the afternoon and he was bang on time. He was presentable, amiable and down to earth. It was immediately obvious that he was very keen to share his well researched knowledge, which was reassuring given that having paid for a private tour, I was getting a lot more than an off the shelf group tour (from what others have described to me). Born a Londoner and more than familiar with the area, he regularly checked that the tour pace was comfortable to ensure I was happy with the 3 hour route. He was very helpful with fotos and encouraged questions and discussions on this still mysterious subject, which is pretty clear that he's personally interested in, so much so that in the short time, not only did I acquire a lot of knowledge, but he's actually perked my own interest in Jack The Ripper! Although some parts of the area are still dodgy, I felt completely at ease being with Richard, who increasingly came across as more of a friendly local rather than a tour guide, and despite the atrocious weather, the 3 hours passed well beyond my expectations given his abilities - so excellent value for money. In conclusion, I should add that I'm also from London, but Richard's Tours aren't just for tourists, so if you're short on time and want a knowledgeable host, then Richard Chambers is your man. I, for one, will be checking out his other tours!

The Wales tour was a great experience made much better by our excellent guide Rob! It was a difficult one as travel restrictions in Wales were announced on our third day. But Rabbies was quick to make alternative arrangements in Cotswolds and covered the additional cost of bookings. We have been to some magical locations which we would definitely miss on our own. Rob was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic to help, friendly and flexible making everyone feel involved. All in all, it was the highlight trip of the year!

Thank you Doug for our full day bespoke tour of Cornwall, encompassing The Poldark Tour, Lands End, the Atlantic and the Channel coastal towns and villages, it was a joy for my partner and myself. Your skilled driving down very narrow country roads, which we would have never attempted to navigate, giving us a stress free day which allowed the two of us to relax and enjoy the views and your well balanced information. Fun, good banter and a plethora of local/ancient knowledge......and plenty of stops for photo opportunities. A 5 star tour from a 5 star guide. The two of us can highly recommend Menaege Tours to anyone visiting Cornwall.
