So close to the city of Kalamata, but still in the heart of Mountain Taygetos. Hike 11km at the most beautiful and adventurous gorge of Peloponnese. Walk narrow passages at the cobbled path. Enjoy your excursion by the safety guidance of a professional mountain guide with knowledge also on local history. Ridomo gorge, starts from very deep of the heart of mountain Taygetos and after 25 km leads to the beach of Santοva near the city of Kalamata. The gorgeous gorge is a real geological phenomenon. Throughout its length is very easy to observe the uniqueness of its morphology, as well as the unique aesthetic value and practicality of its cobbled roads. It last 5 hours and the maximum number of hikers cannot be more than 15 people.

This food tour was a nice combination of Greek history and Greek history of food. Lots of great shops! Enjoyed a nice variety of taste from breads/cookies, cheese with honey and spoon sweets, Herb shops, the central market, and our personal favorite which was the smoked meat!! The tour ended with a light lunch of Souvlakia sandwiches.. Our tour guide was just amazing, if you can request Sophie please do it you will be glad you did! We recommend you wear comfortable shoes and bring a backpack you’re sure to make plenty of purchases!

Four of us toured with Sofia (there are two Sofias, by the way, and both are fabulous!) on a Saturday in October this year. It was one of the best tours of any kind I've had, and here's why: 1. The carefully planned tour had us stopping to learn about and taste many foods and enjoy a series of local shops -- bakeries, cheese, meats, local grocers, cafe -- where the owners really cared about sharing with travelers what they do. 2. The pace was perfect -- numerous stops, but ample rests, tastings, variety. 3. Our guide -- Sofia is a delight, knowledgeable, fun, warm, interested in our questions. So much fun. We ended up buying a bunch of food along the way for our mobile picnic and gifts to take home. The Food Philosophy gals are on to something great!
