Makena beach, also known as Big Beach, is hands down the best beach in Maui. Long, wide, and sandy beach that offers a break from the crowds in Kaanapali and Kihei. Big parking lot with portable toilets. The beach is perfect for both couples and families.

Our third visit in 5 years. Great experience. Nice to feel liberated and comfortable. Waves were too tall for swimming. We are A fit, conservative, middle age couple who are surprised how much we love visiting this beach- bucket list-check. Wife was totally comfortable there.

Ulua Beach

The best snorkeling spot in Wailea.

Reviewed By heidi0613 - Prince Albert, Canada

Great for snorkelling or swimming. There is a good sized parking lot to park at and a drop off area to drop the family and gear off at. Showers and bathrooms are at the entrance. Nice sandy beach and it’s easy for snorkelers to get in the water and see fish not to far off shore. We have been here several times. Always beautiful.

It was a beautiful day; we had to move further back from the water twice because of the intermittent big waves coming in. But, it was fun and beautiful and there were shady spots and lots of sun.

Drove by, found easy parking, asked where we could see turtles and saw about 5 lounging on the rocks. A very nice person who lived nearby allowed us into her gate to get a better view. Mahalo!! Amazing place to snorkel or shore dive.

Wailea Beach Path

Reviewed By suzannepQ7119YH

Wonderful way to grab a few miles (3 miles round trip) along a stunningly lovely stretch of resort filled beaches. Stop anytime to take in the powers of the Ocean or if you time it right you'll catch a whale breach! I saw a huge turtle dining near the shore rocks. A few stops are available for a snack or sandwich. Wear good shoes if you're "going for it"! I didn't and got blisters. There's only one small section 200 yards at one end that is an actual sand path. Otherwise its all asphalt with some areas of slight incline - ok for cane waker or even wheelchair. No roller skates or skateboards.

The Shops at Wailea is the most diversified mall I've ever been to. From upscale shops such as Tiffany and Louis Vuitton to ABC store and Whalers General store and everything in between. There is also entertainment. You can get a parking voucher with purchase. If you are staying in Wailea or Kihei, don't miss a visit to this mall.
