I took my kids to see this rodeo which is about 1 hour outside of Philadelphia, and maybe 30 minutes from Wilmington DE. There is plenty of free parking, and the tickets are not too expensive, I think $20 for an adult, and $10 for kids under 12. There is some food for purchase there, as well as a gift shop. The seating is first-come-first serve bleachers. The arena is fairly small so most any seat will allow you to see some of the action. There are two gates for the animals, one at each end, that seemed to mostly alternate between events, so if you are sitting near one of the gates, you will be close to the action for at least some of the events.

There is an announcer that explains some of what is going on, so even if you dont know much about rodeo (I'd guess at least 50% of the crowd was not well versed in it), then you'll be able to pick up something. There are different events, such as (sorry Im not a rodeo expert, so please forgive any misuse of terminology), lassoing, where people on horse try to lasso and tie up a calf... bull wrestling (where they try to jump off a horse and catch a small bull and flip it over), and barrel racing, where a horse rider tries to quickly navigate around some 55 gallon drum barrels in the arena.

I think its a good experience, and if you live near, or happen to be in the Philadelphia / Baltimore area, its worth a visit if you want to experience a rodeo.

Become a member of their CSA, and you'll be getting fresh produce for a week! In addition, they invite you to participate in and learn about how your food is grown. Throughout the season, they open the farm up for Member Activity Days, seasonal festivals, classes, seminars, and more. There are areas on the farm where you and your family can walk through the woods, play in the grass, or picnic in the shade.

I love that they try hard to purchase only the freshest local, organic, and environmentally conscious items available.

I just attended my first cooking demo there, and spent 2 hours eating a freshly prepared, delicious meal in a comfy, relaxed, friendly and informative atmosphere. I am hooked, and I am going to tell everyone I know about this lovely farm! Check it out! You won't regret it!

Heritage Vineyard

we went on a weekend getaway to 5 different wineries and this was my favorite. I previously request a reservation for a tour. We did our sweet wine tasting first which was amazing, the staff at this winery is outstanding and tentative! They are not afraid to pour you a taste of their wine. Which I LOVE! So before we took the tour they poured us a glass of wine you take the actual tour of the vineyard in a van. We had Tom/Ryan HE WAS AMAZING! he is part owner with friends of his and his knowledge of the winery was outstanding. He explained the history of the winery and the vineyard how they started. They also grow their own fruit like peaches and apple/pear (forget what its called) it looks like an apple but taste like a pear but they use these for their wines which I thought was cool because most wineries don't grow their own fruit. When we drove past those he got out and picked us a few to try and some to bring home. then we went to the wine making process he explained the gapes and showed us we were even allowed to try how sour they were. he took us into the bins and explained the process of different wines and then you were able to try wines, again they are not afraid to pour so a tasting is like a half of glass. Then we went into the barrel room and cooling which he explained about the barrels and the meaning written on them, then discussed in another room the crushing process and sparking wine and last was the bottling process. This tour was PHENOMINAL! I highly suggest it if your into wines and drinking. We left with a case of their wines and my husband cant wait to go back again. They do have outside where you can drink a bottle or glass but we had to go unfortunately due to another tasting I had scheduled but WE WILL BE BACK! Thank you Heritage Winery for making such a huge impact on us, we will forever be your wine drinkers.

It was cold when we visited, so there wasn't a lot of activity. The park's historical information markers are broken and so etched that you can't really read them. The shore needed to be cleaned, but coming from Minnesota, we understand waiting until warmer weather comes for the clean-up.

Wish we could have gotten the 2.5 hours of our life back that we wasted not only waiting for the ride but the small amount of time the ride took. We took our 9 year old for the NEW zombie attraction...little did we know that the new attraction meant less "real" zombies and broken guns. We had to change guns twice and it still didn't work. And when we reloaded for an extra $5.00 we were done. Like literally they reloaded the gun and we were done. They were NOT helpful on the ride so I did go to the window and they gave me a refund for my reloads but not for the jammed guns! Very disappointing!! Dorney Park next year!!!
