Camino Natural de Rota

I have taken this trail many times so I wanted to be able to share my experience too. The Nature trail can also be ran if that is what you like to do. The trail starts on the boarder of Rota and runs through Costa Ballena and then into Chipiona. There are two Bridges that you will come across which are very challenging but very doable or you can walk your bike up. The trail does need some work done on it in regards to the grass and weeds that are growing onto the path but it is still a great ride. The trail has certain points that you can stop and do some nature watching. Recommend taking plenty of water if you plan on traveling the trail all the way through. When you get into Chipiona you will eventually come the beach which is very nice. I usually stop in Chipiona to get a small bite to eat with freshly squeezed orange juice. I hope you enjoy, I did.

Castillo de Luna

A small castle where we could only see on the ground floor. No charge for admission and only a quick visit necessary. We were not allowed up stairs where, from Reading other comments, others were able to do so. Perhaps that was why we were not charged for admission. We were there on a Monday when a lot of other places are closed.

This is a beautiful ,informative tropical Gardens in the small town of Rota near Cadiz.the main attraction though is the native colony of chameleons that live in the trees.if you ask an attendant they will take you on a tour of discovery to find the creatures in their habitat.Andrea the Chameleon lady was so helpful and enthusiastic but unfortunately soon to retire.even with limited communication, this was a magical visit ,and the protected dunes and beach behind the pines is also worth a look.

Reviewed By Emma A - El Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain

Have been with friends and family 3 times to the Goat cheese farm and enjoyed a special experience every time. The family running it are incredibly welcoming and accommodating. You have to pre-book a tour and there is a minimum number (about 10 I think) but you may be able to tack onto another group as we did on one occasion. Apart from seeing how the cheese is made and making some yourself, there is a tour of the organic site, an explanatory video, chance to meet and fly the birds of prey and see the donkeys, horses, black pigs and of course goats. The children loved milking the goats and petting the goats (in springtime obviously) and holding the birds. We also had tapas of there own cheeses and chorizos at the end and breakfast before we started. Highly recommended. Translations can be arranged.
