Jesperhus

Reviewed By Theresgj - Oslo, Norway

Lovely day out with small and medium children. Some good rides for children, play park, sand boxes, picnic areas and tables. Restaurants on site are not good: fries, sausages and burgers. No veggie options, no gluten reduced options at all. Lovely flower displays, story-themed Gardens and a small zoo display. All in all a surprisingly relaxing day out with few queues and hassles. Probably a bit boring for teenagers.

Ejerslev Havn

This place is known for its cosy and user-friendly marina with plenty of tables and benches, where visitors can enjoy a picnic with the marvelous views of the fjords and the man-made lagoon surrounded by moler excavations, forming a high cliff protecting the lagoon from the wind. There is a 1.2 km walk around the lagoon offering beautiful views of the clear green and blue lagoon with the colorful patterns of the moler cliffs forming an amazing background. There are picnic benches on strategic areas all throughout the walk, some areas are protected from the harsh wind, so there are abundant possibilities to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet, and the incredible views. There is also a small museum with free entrance at the back of the cafe, which documents the historical development of the harbor - truly an experience, which is highly recommended for all visitors of the Isle of Mors. The cafe has a limited opening time, which is different from what is indicated in the cafe website, so make sure that you bring some food and beverages with you, just in case. The cafe was closed both times, we were there on a regular day at around 1 PM.

Ording Kirke

Reviewed By Gloria A - Brussels, Belgium

This well maintained village church is the landmark of the small village of Ording located 11 km north of Nykobing Mors. When in the area, spend a few minutes to enjoy this newly renovated church with the sparkling new red roof and shining whitewashed walls. Bathed in the sunlight and surrounded by the well-kept graveyard, it is not surprising to meet one of the locals tending a family grave. As like so many other village churches in the countryside, you would likely find the church door open, so you can go in and take a look at the austere, but aesthetic interior.

The Isle of Mors is characterized by its very varied sceneries with coastlines, the fjords, green fields, small coastal villages and hiking and bicycle trails, which provide the visitor rich opportunities to enjoy everything the island has to offer in terms of attractions and other activities. On the northern part of Mors, we visited Salgerhøj, situated 89 metros above sea level, and is supposedly to be the highest point on the island. You can drive all the way down to the beach or to the parking area, where you can walk up following some trails to the top. From here the views are fantastic. The weather was clear when we were there so we had very impressive views of Thy as well the fjords. It is said that on a clear day one can count 22 of the in all 34 churches on the island and across the fjords to the east, the Islands of Fur and Livø can be seen. We walked on the trail along the cliffs which offers incredible views of the jagged coastline and the horizon. There are picnic areas offering amazing views - what better way is there to relax and be at peace with oneself in such beautiful surroundings. Do not miss this most scenic and impressive spot in the Isle of Mors. This is also an excellent venue for a hiking tour. You can buy walking maps from the Mors Tourist Bureau located by the Nykobing Mors harbor.

Nykoebing Mors Kirke

Reviewed By Gloria A - Brussels, Belgium

Visitors of the capital of the Isle of Mors cannot miss this beautiful church situated in the center of the town, more specifically in the square called Kirketorvet. It is almost in the middle of the pedestrian street. We visited the church on a wet Monday morning. A lone fish vendor has parked his van in the middle of the square, some meters in front of this majestic church built in new Gothic style covered with red bricks. There was something solitary and peaceful about the scenery. As many churches in Denmark, this church is also open to the public. Take note of the fresco above the entrance door of the Good Shepherd done by Johan Thomas Skovgaard as well as a sculpture of Erik Heide in front of the entrance of the church. The church is also a very popular venue of Concerts.

This is a small museum about the history of fossils and the special Moler-clay at Mors.
Quite interesting to see and learn how the stones in Mors has all these fossils.
Entrance is free for people under 18 of age.
It is a small place, so the visit at the museum takes no more than 45 minutes.
