Jogashima Island

Reviewed By bpunkt73 - Dusseldorf, Germany

What a place! We found the paths neatly sober. The viewpoints very well located, tracks in very good condition.
Wie visited as a party of 8, amongst 4 little-ones. It worked out quite well to follow the shoreline towards the next small port. Plenty of restaurants over there. Very typical. No international family-restaurant avaiable!

Jogashima Prefectural Park

Reviewed By BdetteL - Zushi, Japan

Jogashima is located at the tip of Miura Peninsula and is considered one of the 八景 (eight picturesque views) of the area. It is very picturesque. From the island on a clear day you can see the Boso Peninsula to the Izu Peninsula and everything in between. On clear days, Mt. Fuji rises majestically from across the bay.

Misaki Port

In this city, they have so many tuna dishes that you can't imagine. The port is small with lots of mom-pop restaurants. Stopped by to have Maguro don - fresh tuna over rice and toroman - steamed fatty tuna bun. Cheap but fresh and tasty!

You can take your dogs in here! Med sized park but you can spend a few hours to go around the park. Easy, nice stroller walk around the park. Children's playground, restaurants, gift shop available on site. Some hotels nearby here offer two night stay with free park admission.

Urari

Reviewed By NWUY - Lima, Peru

From Misakiguchi station take the bus to Misaki port (bus stop #2), this is the last stop and takes around 20min.
Urari entrance is next to the water or the opposite side.
It's a little fish market, with fresh products and other processed products. It's also a nice place to rest and pick up maps of the town.
The town specialty seems to be the Toroman, a bum filled with tuna and vegetables (not my favorite but try it!)

Koajiro Forest

Reviewed By Brett A

A gentle walk for a couple of kilometres throgh wooded areas and swampland. The walk is, for the most parts, raised and boarded and climbing up and down is reduced to stairways. The views are old forest and meadow until, at the finish, you see the sea. When you reach the end, be sure to look for the crabs waving a welcome but please be careful not to step on them, they are very small. The other wildlife you will definitely see are the black kites which rule the skies in this area.
All in all, a great half day out.

Misaki Asaichi
