This place is temporarily closed "Minami Sanriku Portal Center" is a new exchange base operated by Minamisanriku-cho Tourism Association.We also accept tourist information and tours organized by tourist associations. In the adjacent large tent, we also have purchase of souvenirs in Minami Sanriku-cho and photograph exhibition at the time of the disaster. So many tasty seafood restaurants are available, and noodle shops. Many local fresh sea foods, when you buy at market you can eat at sitting area which is comfortable (sheltered from wind and rain on cold days). Great coffee shop, too.

Minami Sanriku Umino Visitor Center

The area around the Minamisanriku Marine Visitor Center is a Ramsar registered wetland. The terrace overlooks Shizugawa Bay, while inside visitors can receive information on the Sanriku Fukko National Park and Minamisanriku-cho area, including about the local wildlife, landscape, and nature. The facility also puts on special events where people can experience more about the local nature.
