Mersea Island Watersports

Here at Mersea Island Watersports we are Mersea Islands's first and only dedicated windsurfing and paddleboard centre. We are based right next to the water with a launch ramp a stones throw from our door. This gives us access to the water at all times. Being based around the side of the island we are fairly sheltered making it the perfect place to learn windsurfing or paddleboarding.

I attended the Easter Breads baking course today at Mersea Island Cookery School with my sister and absolutely loved it. We were given a voucher as a Christmas present, which was a great gift - I'd like another one next Christmas please..!! We baked hot cross buns, an orange wreath and brioche buns. The class was small which meant we were each given enough guidance and learnt a lot. We had a lovely lunch at the school when we finished baking, made by Ilia. Ilia was a fantastic teacher, and I am in awe of how much baking knowledge she has! She made us feel very welcome, and coped very well doing double the amount of work as usual without her helper there! I would love to come again for another class.

The children's selection of books is very comprehensive too. There are computers to research or just read emails. a printing facility and helpful staff who are just full of information. West Mersea Beach

Reviewed By lowee99 - Colchester, United Kingdom

This is a great beach with plenty of parking, cafes and public toilets. Can be quite busy, but is huge, as Mersea is an island, so just walk up the beach a bit and you can always find a private spot. Gets the sun all afternoon till sunset, which is a nice little bonus

Great beach hut, Peggy the largest of the 3 available in Mersea. Perfect on right on the sand location. Cafe/parking/toilets few metres away. £5 to park all day. There are steps down to the beach so beware if you bring a pushchair. So very well equipped, check website for full list, I didnt check & took lots of items I didn't need too. Weather was fantastic which really added to a wonderful day. Spotlessly clean. Always check the tides for Measea as the tide can cover the Strood.
