I believe this is the longest inhabited castle in Germany and perched on the hill at the top of the old town it's a steep climb up from the harbour area. The ticket office is within the gift shop before the moat bridge entrance. Tickets are in my opinion slightly expensive for what you get and no doubt this is the reason a lot of visitors take pictures from outside but venture no further (there is a cafe within the grounds but not sure if you can visit that separately). Regardless of your nationality, it's well worth purchasing a guide pamphlet for an additional 1e (there are no room hosts/docents). There are quite a few displays of arms and armour but the rooms/displays/furniture are starting to show their age and I just got the feeling everything is going to be left as it is until something collapses. The chapel at the end of your self guided tour is quite ornate. A famous German poetess lived here for the last 8yrs of her life and died in one of the rooms on display. Although interesting, I wouldn't say this is a "must see" attraction.
Groups can arrange tours of other rooms in the castle not normally open to the general public. The cafe is nothing special and the outside wooden Seating is need of replacement.

You can walk, walk your bike, or drive right onto the ferry and then pay while you are on board. The wait at the port is short on both sides, and the ride is quick and easy. It will save you a bunch of time between Meersburg and Konstanz and is much preferable to the long drive around. In Konstanz, it does not drop you off where most of the tourist attractions are, including the therme, if that's in your plans. You can get to all of those places easily by bus, however, so an all-day pass procured from a machine at the bus stop near the ferry dock in Konstanz is recommended.

Though I preferred the old castle, also the new palace is really nice. The halls with hunting scenes painted on the wall are really beautiful and refined. The mirror hall, with the view on the lake, worths a visit. And the museum telling the story of Meersburg is really interesting (and being an interactive exhibition excite visitors curiosity)

We were greeted heartily by an elderly lady when we arrived at the Zeppelin Museum in Meersburg. It wasn't hard to find, as it was next to a castle in the old city. This lady explained about the museum and then showed us a documentary about the Zeppelin. It used to be a luxurious means to fly. They had restaurants and rooms containing beds. The food was supposedly very delicious.
Hitler too had in mind to use Zeppelins in his war planning. The Hindenburg disaster on May 6, 1937 dampened his enthusiasm.
Now the only zeppelins that fly in the sky are blimps that advertise something or another.
There are quite a bit of pictures and models about Zeppelins in this museum. We have learned a lot. Too bad we couldn't see a real one!

Beautiful setting on Lake Constance. There are many different saunas and steam rooms to choose from. It's a great place to swim with quite a few indoor and outdoor pools plus the lake. Very relaxed atmosphere and it serves good quality healthy food.

Another reviewer thought the Magische Saule looked somewhat like the Imperia in Constance. Good Call! The creator of each is the contemporary, local artist Peter Lenk. He is noted for his satiric style. It is sad that there is not much prominent information about the artist at the site. A traveller who prepares for a trip will know in advance what he or she might see, but a tourist who just stumbles on things will miss the significance. In that case, it is incumbent on the town to provide prominent and detailed information on the subtleties of its attractions.

Wir - Schwaben, Bodensee- und Weinliebhaber kennen und schätzen ihn schon lange, natürlich liegen uns seine schwäbischen Weine - Lemberger und Riesling - besonders am Herzen, aber auch Spätburgunder,Sauvignon .... verdienen Beachtung.
Einfach selbst probieren und entscheiden.

Even on a rainy day, -that we unfortunately had – nobody can resist walking around in this charming little town. One of the first thing that you notice from a distance is the Unterstadttor. The clock on the top was quite punctual, and beautiful purple flowers are decorating the windows and the balcony.

This musem was a nice surprise! The old building was carefully restored amd houses an exciting display of different aspects and the history of wine (not wine making). Modern technology and interactive displays tell the story. If you can get a guided tour, do so, the guides are extremely knowledgeable, far beyond the museum. You can also taste different wines from the region.

Walking through Meersburg, the Obertor's bright red color stands out from its surroundings, so it inevitably arouses the traveler's curiosity.
If I interpreted the German text correctly, it was part of the reinforcement wall built around the city, in 1300. It is mentioned in 1477 as an ornamental clock tower. The Bridge house associated with it was demolished in 1838. Unfortunately, I have not found an English-language brochure, and my German knowledge only extends to ask for a glass of water. The internet didn't help me much to find out more about this clock tower. In Konstanz Niederburg the Schnetztor is similar, also part of the old wall, and also with a clock, counting the passing time. If you like history and you happen to be in Meersburg, worth to have a look at the Obertor.
