Castaway Cay

Bahamian Out Island currently owned by the Disney Corporation, which is accessible only by arriving on a Disney cruise ship.

Reviewed By Shawn H

Went on a Disney cruise to celebrate my daughter's 21 birthday which was wonderful! Our last stop was Disney's beautiful private island Castaway Cay. The day was great! We were not able to enjoy our watercraft excursion due to choppy waters but that did not dampen our spirits. We enjoyed getting in the ocean, laying out, character greetings, and of course, the lunch buffet. There is plenty to enjoy. The biggest disappointment of the day was having to leave.

Hope Town Lighthouse

This peppermint-striped lighthouse is one of the few remaining Lighthouses in the Caribbean that is still man-operated.

Reviewed By tomburriss - Townville, South Carolina

9 of us toured it and we all enjoyed it. You must climb the stairs to appreciate the beauty of the area. Last manned kerosene powered lighthouse in the world. Please buy something from the gift shop because all funds go towards the preservation of the lighthouse.

Sailed to this island and stayed a couple of nights. Lots of fantastic Beaches and snorkelling. Lighthouse is worth a visit and a golf cart tour around the area was fun!

Tahiti Beach

Beautiful beach on Elbow Cay bordered by a thick grove of palm trees.

Reviewed By bekntony - Merritt Island, Florida

This beach is a great place to hang out. You can sit in 2 feet of water and chill or get up onto the beautiful white sand and hang out. The water is clear and there are two sides to the beach/ water. We pulled up with the rest of the boats and anchored in a couple feet of water. Hung out with friends and just chilled with a cocktail. It's about five minutes from Sea Spray Marina. Easy to get to and nice place to chill.

Man-O-War Cay

Known as the boat-building capital of the Bahamas, this island has historically been populated by religious white settlers.

Reviewed By Jacqui B - Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Dock and Dine is a fabulous place to eat on Man O War Cay in Abacus. Despite it being know forever as a dry island, things have changed and a cold Kalik with the spicy conch fritters is perfect before a fresh fish Sandwich. The small shop behind the pool has a huge variety of teeshirts and souvenirs.
Everyone makes the short trek to "the sail shop" (Norman Albury Sail Makers) where the bags are made onsite and can only be purchased there on MoW - they don't sell on the internet or other stores so it's sort of a badge item from the Abacos. Stop at the other stores as the items are great there as well. Joe's Studio in particular was an awesome find with handmade Christmas ornaments, pottery, coverups, shirts, cute sandals and G&M Pantry jellies ($11, but can be found at the pantry store direct for $9.)
MoW reminded me of how some of the Florida Keys used to be - friendly, historical, classy, relaxed and with working sea related stores (boat builders, sail shop etc) - not commercialized and not a party place. Absolutely love it.

Lucayan Nature Tours

Reviewed By Cinnamonbun1 - Kingsville, Maryland

We learned about Reggie and Lucayan Nature Tours here on Trip Advisor, and made arrangements in advance for a tour our first day on the island. We were especially interested in seeing native bird species, and it exceeded our expectation. We went to parts of the island we could never have found on our own, and Reggie knew the best places to spot the Cuban Parrot, the most colorful (and noisy!) local bird. Well worth the cost of the tour for the two of us. Lots of fun, lots of info, lots of birds.

Windward Point

As the name suggests it tends to be extremely windy in the winter months but none the less some great ocean view alongside some high end homes. Shallow water out front.
