Positively surprised to find English speaking person working at the castle. This time I was able to get some more information about the place. Mind you this is small city so not many people speak English. Don't forget to take a pic in Samurai hat.

２０００年以上前と云うと神話の世界の物語の次元であって・・・何を云われてもそうなのか？と聞いているしかない程の検証不能な時代です。元伊勢伝承地の代表的な神社です。ご祭神は天照大御神、伊勢神宮選定までに約９０年間はこの地が仮の伊勢神宮であったとか・・・ここにも約４年間ですが、天照大御神の神鏡が祀られていた神社です。ここの参道は３００ｍ程度もあります。ここには伊勢神宮とここでしか使用出来ないとされている「黒木鳥居」がありました。御神体はここでも「山」で、背後の日室ｹ嶽です。我国の神道は殆どが山岳信仰から発生しているので御神体は大抵は背後の山と云うケースが多い。

Nothing spectacular but ok for such a small town. There are couple of new facilities for the animals but generally very old. Very nice people working there so you feel welcomed. Kids liked it that's what it counts it the end.

ここの拝殿は驚くべき場所に建っています。真に断崖絶壁にへばりつくように建てられています。当然、まともな参道などはありません。鎖を頼りに岩の斜面を登ってお詣りするのですが、この鎖は当然，後世と云うか、最近設置されたもののはず、と、云うことは、これが無かった時にはどのようにしてお詣りしていたのか？興味がありますね。ここは健脚かつ手の力も強い人でしかお詣りは出来ませんので、普通の人は遥拝所からお詣りするようにしましょう。

This is great park to relax. There is big playground for the kids to enjoy outdoors. If it rains there is small science museum on the other side of the park ( pinkish color building). The zoo is only 10 min walk as well so not bad place to unwind. It gets quite hot in summer and there is not much shade in there so apply so sunscreen on hot day.

Nice place to visit. Little bit of walking through the bush. Beautiful flowers and generally very relaxing place. Lots of little darumas around the Temple.

現在の伊勢神宮の豊受大御神はこの「元伊勢外宮・豊受大神社」から遷座したと伝承されています。三社詣りも伊勢神宮同様にまず、この元伊勢外宮・豊受大神社からお詣りを始めて元伊勢内宮・皇大神社へとお詣りします。

広い境内に西国霊場の各札所の石像があります。長い石段を登ると素晴らしい庭園が迎えてくれる丹波古刹霊場第１３番札所です。ここも臨済宗南禅寺派寺院、禅宗関係は殆どの寺院が天井画に見事な龍が描かれています。紅葉の季節にはまだ日がありますが、それでも庭園の素晴らしさには目を奪われる名刹です。

福知山観光案内所は、JR福知山駅の北側の高架下にある新しい観光案内所です。福知山駅にJRで到着した時に立ち寄り、観光地図を入手しました。案内所の方が親切に地図を選んでくれました。この観光所はレンタサイクルの受付もしています。福知山観光のスタートに利用されたら如何でしょうか？

ここの歴史、縁起が良いことと、偶然が重なる必要はありますが、素晴らしい雲海が見られることが良い。ここは参詣するには大変な労苦がいる神社です(道が解り難い)。私は２回目なので迷わなかったが。大江山の八合目まで上がらないと参詣出来ません。ここからは運が良ければ素晴らしい雲海が見られます。今回はダメでしたが数年前には偶然、見ることが出来ました。ここは鬼退治をしたと云う伝承のある源頼光達が道に迷った時に、ここに一見の吾妻屋があって年取った老婆が道を教えてくれたと云う場所です。頼光の「腰掛け岩」「鬼の足跡」などの逸話の跡があります。所謂、酒呑童子伝説にかかるパワースポットみたいなもんです。自家用車でも行けますが駐車場は１０台以内、境内は無料です。周囲を樹木で包まれた霊気溢れる神社でした。
