I visited Valu beach with a view of Jaco, didnt get to the island coz it was windy but snorkeled on Valu beach and it was amazing, heaps of coral and fish, stayed at the beautiful Pousada in Tutuala (call Nico to book +670 77463880) with great views from the cliff top, the road (8kms) from Tutuala to Valu/Jaco was bad but work is in progress... Road scooter from Dili over 3 or 4 days and it was a mission to get there... Lots of road works in progress so hopefully all sections/roads will be much better soon... Stayed at Manatuto, Baucau and Com on the way, Com was nicest and cleanest seaside village I saw, stayed at Kati guesthouse right on beach (phone Angelo +670 75421650)

Over 230 young people were massacred by Indonesian Militia near here, those that were left injured were taken to the hospital where the Indonesians murdered those as well. Reviewing the names and ages of those buried here made my skin crawl, such a senseless waste.
