If you want to visit this place first you need to get the permission from Karnataka power corporation because entry is restricted for visitors. some of the things need to know before planning to Sykes point. 1. You have to satisfy your genuineness as tourist (carry company id or government Id). 2. Hard copy and soft copy of ID. 3. Get permission from KPC chief officer (hardly take 20 min if everything is fine). 4. Show that permission letter to sykes point officers. Then you can enjoy the mesmerizing view of Mountains and kali river from 300 feet above. Please avoid taking pics and videos due to security issues.

Rafting on Kali river was the most exciting adventurous thing ever...The rapids was out of this world experience. we enjoyed a lot..We did Kayaking also..You can find crocodiles on the river banks..water is very clear..Thick greenery both sides of the river.. The coracle ride also more interesting..

A full day trek in the Dandeli forest and we come across an old bridge and on the right side we find steps going atop to a hill and we climb those steps and out of the world these steps led us to the Kavala Caves. It was night by then we camped and slept in cave.

This peak is inside the Kali Tiger reserve and it is nothing more than a view point.So, you get down from the safari jeep at this point, climb up the stairs and absorb the amazing view. This place can be dangerous for those who stand on its wall and take pictures. Can get crowded very fast with people pushing each other for places to click pictures. There have a small gazebo type construction where you can sit and rest for a while, not that you need to. When there is no cloud and no smoke you can actually experience the vastness of the forest, the myriad colors of the forest canopy. Do not try standing on the boundary wall, it’s dangerous. Also, do not litter there, it’s the jungle not your home. If you are lucky and the people around you are decent and well behaved you can actually enjoy the place, however most of the time you will have wailing kids and unruly tourists.

Syntheri Rocks is situated right inside the Kali Tiger Reserve (earlier known as Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary). Sight seeing tours are arranged from Dandeli from where you can hire a cab or drive your vehicle to the site. One has to take forest entry permit by paying entry fees for tourists and the vehicle at the forest entry gate. One has to climb down app 200-250 stairs from the car park to the site. Specimens of different type of rocks of geologic importance are displayed on the side of the stair pathway that leads to the syntheri rock site. Definitely a difference kind of spot which will intrigue ppl having interests in geology and science.
