We were visiting family and hadn't gotten a chance to celebrate our anniversary, discovered an escape room on our last day in town- New Year day (holiday). I contacted the staff via email to confirm availability and they got back to me immediately and were happy to come in and set everything up for us even though they had no bookings for the day. We had a fantastic time! very grateful for the accommodating staff who took time from their holiday to help us celebrate! Great for small groups, couples, families, work team building... a fantastic way to spend a rainy day in town while you wait for laundry etc.

King Street Beer Company

We love the atmosphere here. Cider and craft beer from their sister company Saltbox Brewing as well as some guest taps. Check the Facebook page or website for the entertainment schedule. Lots of great music. They don’t serve food but there are a number of places nearby you can take out and bring in. Some menus on site. A few of them will also deliver there. Warmer weather will see the courtyard and sidewalk patio in full swing. There is an upstairs that can be reserved for meetings and private parties.

Wile Carding Mill Museum

Reviewed By kenbQ167LZ - North Bay, Canada

My wife and I visited this old, water powered carding mill in mid-August of 2019. As we entered another couple left. This meant we were the only visitors in the small mill. To our surprise and delight we were given an almost one hour informative and enjoyable guided tour by a very knowledgeable guide. As we left another couple were just entering. What a shame to see so few people during the height of the tourist season and from what our guide told us this was not unusual. The mill itself was in continuous operation from 1860 intil 1968. All of the original machinery is still in the mill. The entire milling operation is explained in detail including prices per pound (to the customer) for various operation and an explanation as to why a 12 hour trip in the 1800's was a worthwhile investment to have one's wool carded. One of the interesting things about this mill was that customers were guaranteed that the raw wool that they brought in would be the carded wool they received back - not mixed with somebody else's which was usually the case. Take the time - an hour or so to be pleasantly surprised.
