The high school baseball tournament is held at this stadium every summer, and all baseball players have dream to play baseball at there. I watched tournaments over TV and a lot of surprising things happen. I was often moved. Its size was not big, but I felt very big dreams of high school students occupied the stadium.

Cherry trees are so great only 2weeks a year though. You should check 'cherry blossoms front' at Japanese weather forecast before you visit. It is usually end of March or early April.

This is a nice place to have a picnic, or ether yet at hanami in spring! Though beware, the crowds are big and that's an understatement. Throughout the rest of the year it's pretty empty though and nice for a quiet stroll.

We are FLW followers and have travelled to view many of his masterpieces. For us, this is another!
The house is built on a hilltop overlooking the Port of Kobe. A former summer home, it brings together a Frank Lloyd Wright structure reminiscent of LA textile block houses with Japanese interiors.
A bit out of the way, (and we manged by public transport) but well worth the visit if you are a fan of FLW, design or architecture in general.

I really enjoyed visiting this shrine. There are multiple buildings and statues, a nice garden, koi pond and cafe. If you are in the area its worth a visit. I went on a Monday afternoon and it was not busy at all. It was a bit hard for me to find the entrance - I could tell where the shrine was located because it was walled-off and there were many trees behind the wall, but I had to walk all the way around it before I found the entrance. When you go - walk towards the highway/overpass. The entrance faces the highway.

You have to stay in Osaka or Kobe, if you want to enjoy climbing to free time of only half a day, here is the best choice.
Neary station is "Hankyu Railways Ashiya-gawa station" but many people use "JR Ashiya station".
Because you can use a Special rapid service train,It is first and convenient.And between the station of the two is less than a 10-minute walk.
Out the ticket gate of JR Ashiya Station, only 10 seconds turn right, you will find a lunch box shop.It is a "Eki-Ben" chain famous Awajiyawa, in Kobe area.
In this shop, I want you to buy"Rocko Juso Bento".It is specially lunch box made for climbers.
Well, first destination Hankyu Ashiya-gawa station.There is a ”Lawson” convenience store near the station. Because it is a mountain trail that sweat well, let's buy the water of one or more per person.
Neary the ticket gate of Ashiya-gawa you can get Free Rock garden map (in japanese) at often time.
It is about 20 minutes away from here until you arrive at the entrance of the mountain, because it is a residential area there are many branches, let's ask a guide to mountain climbers you are near the station, or ask them to guide your friend .
"Koza-no-taki waterfall" to arrive at a 20-minute walk from the station is the entrance of Ashiya rock garden. Toilet the last before climbing the mountain, can be found here.
This course is recommended to enjoy for the first time a rock garden.

It is a course where you can walk in about 3 hours, but if you enjoy the scenery, eat your lunch, 4 hours it takes to walk.
If want more hard and long climbing,you can extention the course from Kaze fuki iwa to top of Rokko mountain.And... In addition, the nearest destination from top of Rokko mountain is a famous Arima Onsen.
This Extention route is about 4.5 hours.But this mountain peak is over 3000 feets.It7s not easy course,Please select carefully.

I've been here countless times, both for movies and shopping.
There aren't a lot of choices if you're a guy, but there is always Uni Qlo. If you're a girl then you're spoiled for choice, lucky you!
The best times to go are at the end of summer and winter for all the big sales. The food court is also fairly decent, but always crowded.

I went to “Tanizaki Junichiro Memorial Museum of Literature, Ashiya” to see the exhibition “Syunkinsyo, A labyrinth between truth and falsity”. Syunkinsyo (A portrait of Syunkin) was the novel about the long-lasting relationship between Syunkin and Sasuke, which was master and servant at fast, teacher and student next, and a practical couple at last. We can see various exhibits such as miniature houses, Kimonos, instruments, photos, etc. We can also get some clues to solve the greatest mystery of the novel.
Some business leaders and artists moved to the area between Osaka and Kobe (so-called Hanshin-kan) to enjoy plenty of greenery and healthy environment with well-developed railway lines from the beginning of the 20th century. Tanizaki, who is one the most popular novelist in Japan, moved from Tokyo and built his new house at Okamoto in 1928. He relocated 13 times in Hanshin-kan during 21 years and wrote some novels set in each house. We can’t see most of his former houses because those were demolished due to aging, the great earthquake in 1995, etc. We can see the study room with 4.5 tatami mats and the garden with a pond, which are copies of his house, in the museum.
I love the Tanizaki’s study room where I am able to hear the rhythmic peals produced by Shishiodoshi (a device for making high-pitched sounds) in the garden.
We can get there from 3 railway stations (Hanshin Ashiya station, JR Ashiya station, Hankyu Ashiyagawa station) in some 20 minutes bus ride.

芦屋川の土手には多くの枝ぶりの良い松並木が揃っていて景観も良いがここには浜は無い。埋め立ててもっと先にある。阪神淡路大震災があったすぐにはこの公園には仮設住宅がびっしり建てられたのだ。多くの芦屋市民も被害者だったのだ。
