Whatever road we take in Banda Aceh, it will lead to Baiturrachman Mosque.
Always full with visitors. The best time to visit is between 10:00am to 11:30am. As Banda Aceh is very hot get ready with your sun cream.
You need to wear fully covered attire to visit the mosque. No jeans or leggings.

romantic beach at the northern part of sumatera island, banda aceh. the sea waves of the Indian Ocean are very fierce, the white sand is sparkling, clean, many culinary available, when it comes in the afternoon, it is perfect to enjoy the sunset while drinking coffee aceh (coffee tebalik) at the beachside coffee shop. very beautiful calm, and lower the emotions of the soul.

Museum Tsunami in Banda Aceh is a must to visit.
The building itself is designed to capture the emotion of the tsunami victims and situation.
The museum is divided into 3 sections: the tragedy, the fear and hope.
I only have the admiration to the survivors.
The museum has good access for wheelchairs.

During our visit to Gapang beach we went here a few times. The underwater world is very, very beautiful. Clean and clear water, good temperature, what more do you want?

We where there in juli during Ramadan, and got a nice fried rice with egg in the hotel Renggali at the border of the lake, a few km from Takengon.
The views as you can see in my picture are very scenic.
The people here are very friendly, but most don't speak english so a little bahasa Indonesia helps.
The environment invites to make nice walks but we had only one night stay during our trip to Bandah Aceh...
