Top 10 Things to do Good for Couples in St Ives, England

September 10, 2021 Mikaela Didonna

St. Ives boasts a quartet of golden-sand beaches. Sheltered coves draw swimmers and sun-worshippers, but water-sports aficionados visit St. Ives for great surfing, windsurfing and water-skiing conditions. And on your way there, keep your eyes peeled for a dude with seven wives. You never know when nursery rhymes might come true.

Porthminster Beach

A favorite place for a family outing, this lovely stretch of beach overlooks Godrevy Lighthouse in the distance.

Excellent beach with a weekly (Tuesday) open air cinema across summer, we watched an afternoon showing of The Greatest Showman - thoroughly enjoyed it. Showings sell out quickly so book in advance to avoid disappointment. VIP tickets best, include popcorn, Gin or soft drink and deck chairs at the front. However, seating was provided for standard tickets and you could get pretty near the front if you arrived early.

Saw this last night. A fun little play in a tiny theatre which in itself is part of the attraction - something a bit different. Excellent value for £32 for a family of four. We all enjoyed it and we’ll be back next year I hope.

South West Coast Path - Godrevy Head

This short 0.6 mile walk on the South West Coast Path has great views across St Ives Bay, and out to the lighthouse on Godrevy Island just off shore. Children will love the long beach, as well as the island and the lighthouse and the tales of shipwrecks. A good walk in spring, when the coastal grasslands are full of wildflowers and fulmars nest noisily in the cliffs.

What a fabulous experience from start to finish. Vanessa supported and advised us throughout the process of making our rings. We shared good music, laughter and took away a fantastic memory. Vanessa put the finishing touches to our rings and posted them to us. We visit each time that we are in St Ives and the jewellery is beautiful. I often want to buy it all! Highly recommend a visit to the shop and if you are getting married, book in to make your rings!
