Cloughjordan House

Cloughjordan House is an 800 year old country house set in Co Tipperary. What began as a cookery school has now become a premium wedding venue. The cookery school was started due to Sarah Baker's passion and love of fresh and "real" food. This love of fantastically tasty local food conveys in the wedding food on offer at the venue. Cloughjordan House offers a relaxed country house party venue with the marquee seating up to 180. The romantic ballroom with it's large open fireplace is used for humanist and civil ceremonies and then comes alive after dinner for music and dancing. You can also enjoy your ceremony on the front lawn, in the forest or woodshed. There is a covered BBQ area (the Asado) where the party atmosphere can continue to make a full two or three days of fun. Cloughjordan House has accommodation for over 80 guests. At Cloughjordan House the focus is on family, friends, good quality and tasty food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Had the most wonderful time here for my daughters hen party. All health guidelines were followed and the staff were friendly and efficient. The facilities and food were amazing . The rooms in the cowshed were spotless and having the lovely huge sitting room made social distancing so easy. The breakfast the next morning was fabulous . I would love to go back and would happily recommend CJH as a venue.

We made this drive after leaving Waterford and heading to Cahir. It is a beautiful drive full of nice vistas out in the country - well worth a trip. We made several scenic drives somewhat similar to this during our 16 days in Ireland - Caha Pass, Conor Pass, etc. It's nice to take some time to get away from all the tour busses and major crowds at all the big tourist attractions and just enjoy some quieter time in the beautiful Irish countryside. Make the effort to get here - you won't be sorry ...

Devil's Bit Pony Trekking

Ride the trails through the Devil's Bit Mountain. Take in the beautiful views on horseback. We cater for children and adults, from beginners to advanced riders. You can do 2/3 hours, half day, full day or 2-3 days. Carriage driving can be included. We cater for individuals or groups up to 12.

I have often climbed the Devil’s Bit but the best way to explore and admire the mountain is from the saddle. Maura, Christy, Caoimhe and the gang gave my friends and I an unforgettable day out. The trails were magical, the views were amazing, and the craic was mighty!! We had so much fun and can’t wait to do it again. The best part is you don’t need to have riding experience as Maura and Christy cater for riders of all levels. Such a fun and exhilarating day out, I would recommend it to everyone.

Turas Eireann

Turas Eireann provides quality full day excursions around County Kilkenny. We also provide a range of multi-day tours around Ireland providing a personal itinerary that accommodates what you want to include on your vacation and adding suggestions, of the lesser well known sites of hidden Ireland.

Our family of 5 just arrived home from a 10 day tour of Ireland where we engaged the services of Dermot O' Connor from Turas Eireann as our tour guide and private driver. Dermot educated us on so many levels...not only what to see and do, but shared many stories about the Irish people and the history of the Ireland. Having Dermot as our tour guide/driver we had the most enjoyable vacation which allowed us to sit back and absorb the Irish culture and not worry about driving on the opposite side of the road. We could also enjoy a Guinness or two at a lunch pub visit without worrying about driving to our next destination. After spending so much time with Dermot we felt like he became a member of our family and missed him when we began the final leg of our journey in Dublin where his services were not longer needed. Dermot is extremely courteous, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor. We would highly recommend Dermot and Turas Eireann to anyone looking for a private escort/tour guide visiting Ireland. We rate him 5 stars out of 5 stars.

This imposing 15th-century castle was long a military stronghold.

Self toured this castle with some narrow staircases. It had some very interesting history which is on display plus different rooms as it was. Worth a visit.
