Cragun's Legacy Courses

Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed our 2-18 hole courses; 5 star Dutch Course and 4.5 star Bobby's course, giving us 36 of the finest holes of golf in the state. We also have a 9 hole reversible Par 3 course and Foot Golf to mention! Once you have finished one of the above mentioned you can grab a seat on the patio or inside and enjoy some refreshing beverages and breakfast , lunch or dinner in our Legacy Grille.

I play Cragun's several times during the golf season. I always have an incredible golf experience. The course is always in pristine condition. The staff are responsive, friendly and first rate. My favorite course is Bobby's, but Dutch is beautiful and challenging too. There are par 5's that are reachable and a couple of par 4's that feel like par 5's. My wife and I have also taken golf lessons from Chris Foley who is the PGA professional at the course. Chris is an incredible instructor who is thoughtful, kind and insightful with his instruction and feedback. I highly recommend Cragun's as a destination for golfing couples or for a buddies or girlfriends' golf get-away.

Fall is a nice time to relax on the bike trail. The leaves were great and the trail was nice. Relaxing trail worth the drive to get to. Enjoyed the Pine River Chamber of Commerce building, nice clean restrooms, great things to look at.

Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area

Don't miss this one. We camped late August 2020 at the Portsmouth campground with easy access to trails by bike. The trails are beautiful and well groomed with vista views at many points. Even the "easy" ones can be a little rocky/challenging. The next level up is definitely challenging depending on your skill level. There are multiple lakes to choose from with very clear water and sand beaches. We brought kayaks and floated and explored. Ironton town is close with 2 bars and a brewery; grocery store for supplies. Purchase firewood in town; had 4 solid bars of Verizon coverage at all times. Definitely going back.

Newly remodeled and loving it!! There is just something special about being out on the boat, driving up to the dock and enjoying some good grub at Ernies!! The food is good, the service is good and the view is fantastic!! The new menu has some good offerings, but we had a shorter stay this year so we only had one lunch with cheese curds and wings. I would say that both appetizers were quite good. There is an outdoor sand volleyball court, swing set and they offer live music. A stop at Ernies should definitely be on your agenda!!

We go to a lot of breweries in Minnesota. This one has an extensive selection of beers, they do flights, is in a cool building and has a great patio area. Couldn't ask for more, I dont think! Had a great time.

Charles A. Lindbergh State Park

We were here mid-July, and the mosquitoes weren't bad. We were impressed with the cleanliness in the shower house. The campsites were wooded, giving privacy. The campground is fairly compact; it would be difficult to maneuver large units here (ex. My other half, a professional driver, says a 30-foot 5th-wheel is doable, but a 30 foot bumper hitch would be extremely tight).

This establishment has done an amazing job of making the best of COVID restrictions! The outdoor fire pits are very accommodating. They even had blankets available to keep everyone comfortable. The atmosphere is so much fun. I would highly recommend the cherry guava sour!
