My husband, young adult daughter, her friend and I shared a sushi making class on New Year’s Eve in the Asakusa area of Tokyo. The owners are warm, quick witted and deeply knowledgeable about the history and art of sushi making. We learned by doing, using fresh ingredients of excellent quality, and then enjoyed our handiwork with hot sake. It was a first class, fun experience. The owners earn the rave reviews they get.

This was a fun afternoon for our group. It was an eye-opener just to experience how a traditional Kimono is worn, with all the undergarments and layers. But the two ladies who assisted us were experts and very quick in getting us ready. Photographer Hiroshi-san was also very quick and I liked that the ladies styled us till the very last moment, fixing sleeves and making sure hair ornaments were in the right place for the photo blocking. Our photos came very quickly too, and Hiroshi-san was very patient and was able to keep track of all our choices and changes. Thank you for a unique experience!
