Got a full day PalmerSport voucher for my 30th voucher. What a fantastic day it was, from start to finish. A supreme collection of high performance cars, all with something a little bit different! And I can’t speak highly enough of the staff either. James and Kerry were fantastic team leaders, making everyone feel relaxed and right at home from minute one! Driving instructors were also brilliant, pushing me to the limits while also making me feel relaxed. Special mention in particular to James (a different one) in the BMW. Brilliant! Also certainly well fed throughout the day as well, with a great full English on arrival at 8am, a lovely lunch and afternoon tea to finish the day. If I had to be really picky, I’d say the bread was a bit dry on the AT sandwiches and the cakes were so so, but as I say, that’s nitpicking in the extreme. Just a fantastic day!

Edible Ornamentals

We began selling chilli pepper plants in 2001. The plants, and later pickles and sauces, gained very favorable attention and in 2007 we purchased Cherwood Nursery in Chawston which we renovated. Known for its 'Pick Your Own' chilli tunnel which is open to the public, the nursery has become the destination of choice for European hot pepper enthusiasts. In addition to fresh retail and wholesale chillies we also produce a selection of gourmet sauces, spice rubs, dried, smoked, frozen, and pickled chillies processed onsite in a 5 'Stars On The Doors' production kitchen. We also 'grow-to-order' for many other European hot sauce producers, restaurants, farm shops, delicatessens, and distinguished retailers such as Harrods and Fortnum and Mason. We host tours and workshops. Our chilli sauces are available from the nursery and local Waitrose stores. Edible Ornamentals has featured in the national daily press, The Economist and leading national trade publications The Grocer and Fresh Produce Journal. Joanna featured as a chilli expert on BBC's 3 Counties Radio, Radio 2's 'Chris Evans Show', and Radio 4's 'You and Yours' and has appeared in many TV programmes including Ready Steady Cook, Economy Gastronomy, Market Kitchen, Countrywise, Gordon Ramsay's 'Ultimate Cookery Course', 'The Hairy Bikers' and ITV's 'Sunday Brunch'. Heston Blumenthol visited and filmed an episode of his Channel 4 series "Great British Food" which featured Shawn and Heston eating a Trinidad Moruga Scorpion, hottest chilli in the world at that time. Edible Ornamentals won an extremely prestigious "Grower Of The Year Award" at the annual Horticultural Weekly sponsored event in 2011. That same year we were crowned "Best Chilli Grower UK" at the Fiery Foods Festival in Brighton. We were also named 'Local Food Hero' for East Anglia by the Good Food Channel's Market Kitchen and in 2015 awarded an extremely prestigious TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence.

The Quarry Theatre at St Luke's

Located on St. Peter’s Street, in the heart of Bedford, we are the exciting new performing arts facility for Bedford School and the town. St. Luke’s Church has been sympathetically adapted into a venue that houses a 280-seat theatre, a 60-seat studio-theatre, a spacious bar opening onto the original church garden.

First time in this theatre ànd love it. We were watching Hansel and Gretel, I wanted to book in the stall but was fully booked so just take the chance to book at the circle at the very top as it was the only seat left. It was fine, you can see everything. The bar area is lovely and new and clean too. Their was an opportunity to take photo with the cast after the performance. The production was brilliant. We really enjoyed our visit here and will visit again as we like going to the theatre. I recommend this place.

Excellent fun for us 3 adults and 2 teenagers. We did the Laboratory room which was actually really difficult, but we managed to escape with 11 minutes to spare. However, we did need 5 hints, as we didn't have a clue to start with! As previous reviewers have said, lovely friendly staff who explained everything before we entered the room. Drink in the bar area afterwards which we great. Will definitely return and do the other two rooms. Highly recommend for something a bit different to do, and ideal for moody teenagers!

Great afternoon out , thoroughly enjoyable. Arrived for a Birds of Prey experience , quite a few in our group to start with and was not sure how much we were going to be able to do . However the staff were excellent in all people that wanted to handle the birds were given ample time and were able to spend time with different birds , Owls , Falcons and Hawks to mention a few. After a while the group was split into two one group continued with the birds while the others went to a flying display , then the roles were reversed . As for the flying display we were treated to standing in the arena firstly with an African owl flying and landing on your hand then afterwards an eagle do the same great to watch and take part in , again everybody had the opportunity. We also were able to watch the American Bald Eagle fly between the falconers. The staff were very friendly , helpful and knowledgeable and helped to make it a great time. Will come again.

Priory Country Park

Took the family to the Beefeater Restaurant, found on entering the park, for lunch, which was appreciated by all then decided to walk it off around the park and lake This park is well worth a visit A beautiful lake is the centrepiece and sets the scene and this is surrounded by the park This consists of a large area of grass (this was being cleared of equipment following a concert) but there was an enormous area for children to run about kicking a football or playing chase games There was also an area with weird park equipment which the children loved as it was so different There was also a couple of woodland walks which we ventured on These passed a hidden lake and had beautiful narrow walkways covered by overhanging bushes which formed an archway in places and made it all seem a bit fairytaleish. Quite idyllic We then stopped for a very nice ice cream from the small cafe on site Delicious All in all a good afternoons enjoyment was had by all Well worth a visit
