If you’re in Anacapri you must go on the chairlift and visit the mountain peak - if you are in Capri for more than a day it’s also easy to get to by bus from the Marina or Main Square. The views across the whole island are simply stunning, and reached by single seat chairlift which climbs the mountain. It’s so peaceful and calm and a wonderful experience (unless you have vertigo - it might not be for you!). You get to the top on arrival the views are breathtaking. You can see the whole island across to the mainland and even over to Mount Vesuvius. The return trip is well worth the €12 - I didn’t see the stairs or how you’d actually make the journey back down again....

I've wanted to do this walk for years ,and finally I got the chance. I was not disappointed. We were blessed with beautiful sunny February weather. It takes a fair bit of travelling from Sorrento, but the walk was actually easier and quicker than I'd thought. We walked the route from Nocelle back towards Positano. We used the sunflower guide which I highly recommend. We took the higher route - where the path goes off to the right by a house with a cross in the garden - the signage takes you to the lower route at this point, but apparently the higher route is more spectacular which makes sense, and it was certainly very lovely! The cafe at the end of the route is basic but has a beautiful view too so a good place to stop off before doing the steps down to the road, which was definitely the more tiring bit of the walk. We caught the bus back to Sorrento from a stop at the bottom of the steps rather than in Positano.

What a fabulous place to go. Named as the 7th or 8th toughest mountain climb on a road bike in Europe it’s worthy of its special position. We did it in snow and it made for an amazing adventure. Probably not very clever though on the way down. Watch out it gets incredibly cold on your hands and arms going down hill at speed. And yes we had every kind of top and under garment on! It’s just a killer! Watch out for black ice and be careful with the mountain tunnels! The views are fab but we missed it all due to snow and mist. But we enjoyed it still the same. An amazing adventure you’ll never forget. Enjoy!!

During a very hot summer 2018 when everyday temperatures reached almost 35 degrees Celsius we were searching for some refreshment so we decided to make a trip into mountains with a cable car “Skyway Monte Bianco”. With one ticket costing almost 50 Euros (both ways) it was not a cheap attraction, but it was definitely worth this money. We were lucky with the weather what allowed us to enjoy splendid mountain panoramas. Most of the time the top of the Mont Blanc was hidden in the clouds but there were many other beautiful views we could admire from the open panorama deck or from the restaurant in the covered gallery one level below. The terrain around the upper station was covered with snow and the outside temperature at that height was below 0 Centigrade what together made right conditions for getting some refreshment during that hot summer. Of course we were equipped with warm jackets but we were happy to have a cup of coffee sitting inside the upper station and watching the mountains around through glass windows. At the lower mid-station it was much warmer therefore we spent much time walking outside.

The work was uncompleted and, during the second World War, was used by residents of the area as a military hospital, later becoming the Hall Judicial Deposit.The war left its mark even in the subsoil. That’s way there are handwrite, folding beds, messages of wish and desolation of those who lived it and still maintains its memory. Along the tunnel thereare also the evidences, 530 meters, where visitors can discover the history of real life. Through the spacious streets, it’s easy reachable the network of tunnels and cisterns of seventeenth-century,large buildings, where worked the "pozzari", the only connoisseur of Naples underground.The show is stunning, but that's not finished. On Via Morelli appear statues dating back to fascist period and many cars and motorcycles, abandoned for years, freed from piles of rubbish, arranged and illuminated ad hoc for the route.Nothing is left to chance, even lighting, perfectly integrated with the path of the visitors.Since today everything is possible to visit. Five years ago the scenery was completely different.Rubbish, degradation, wastes of all kinds covered the reliquaries.

We had clear weather so it was not to cold the view was awsome we were not able to trekk up to the top crater due to the increased activity and safety standards but you could still hear and see the small eruptions and sulpher yellow about the top crater.The large lava fields are otherworldy the guide was great plenty of good info the bus ride was good to an open bus the guide was real helpfull around etna

It is not often you get to climb a medieval tower nearly 1000 years old. There are 500 steps and those with claustrophobia or fear of heights may struggle. The view at the top is worth it though.

IL ‘68 CULTURA E SAPORI..."THE '68 CULTURE AND FLAVORS ... Cultural Association " This cultural association arranged a tour of the ruins of Poggioreale, as well as, a tasting of local foods. The group included myself and 7 family members from the United States and members of my family that live near Poggioreale. For 6 of my family members this was the first trip to Sicily. The members of Il ’68 arrived at the meeting point in their vintage Fiat and we followed them to the ruins. An architect and another guide led us on a tour of the ruins – so informative and professionally presented. Then we were delighted to enjoy a tasting of local food with family members under a pavilion very near the entrance to the ruins. After the tasting we were given more information on the devastating earthquake of 1968. This earthquake wreaked havoc on the Belice Valley – the home of my ancestors. Il ’68 presented us with souvenir plaques with various images of our ancestral home, Salaparuta – located very near the ruins for Poggioreale. If you are planning a visit to this area I would highly recommend this cultural association to provide a slice of Sicily that you will always remember. Thank you for making a wonderful day for my family.
