Thomas Haas

Reviewed By 532DavidA532

located off the beaten path on a dead end street in waterfront walking area of North Vancouver, Thomas Haas is a master chocolatier producung inspired coffee drinks, sandwiches, pastries and desserts as well as chocolates that are a true delight. Alongside world class chocolates and hand made to order cakes for purchase,, Thomas Haas offers a miniscule seating area (always crowded) serving sandwiches, pastries, coffees, desserts and chocolates. The quality is unmatched, the service is friendly if a little slow (mainly due to the crowded counter and the care given to the preparation of each coffee). The quality of the coffee served is astounding, offering full, rich French style coffee without the underlying bitterness encountered in the vast majority of "coffee house" chains. Well worth the detour.

EXCELLENT...WELL-RUN, TIMELY, CLEAN, PERFECT - more efficient elevators needed for speed and for those who cannot climb steps...with a bit of up-dating at Waterfront Station, this could be one of the most popular routes in Vancouver - take advantage of the beautiful views, reasonable transit fares--very good value!

Lonsdale Quay Market

Relax and enjoy Vancouver's best view from the North Shore's waterfront Market. With over 90 specialty shops and services, Lonsdale Quay Market is the premier destination at the gateway to the North Shore. Featuring a fresh food market with local products, an international food court, specialty shops featuring local designers, kids shops & play area, restaurants & a boutique hotel and spa, your visit at the market is sure to be an unforgettable experience!

Reviewed By EkMusafir - Pune, India

The Lonsdale Quay Market was the most visited place in North Vancouver for us as tourists. Staying at an Air-B&B in North Van we would have to pass through the market to and from Vancouver Downtown. The SeaBus terminal is located at Lonsdale Quay and the local buses are also available at the bus bays on the landed side of the market. There are many shops inside the indoor market selling gift items, curios, jewelery, clothing and local handicrafts. Most of all we liked the Food Court where we could sample a variety of delicacies from all over the world. We even found an Indian Food restaurant, Halima Grill, where we satisfied our cravings for home-cooked food. We enjoyed some Gelato from Frux Gelato and bought some pastries from a bakery, Ross Crepes and Café. In the evening we wandered around the quay landing and climbed the Q-side platform tower to enjoy the grand views of the Burrard Inlet waterfront and Vancouver City.

Black Kettle Brewery

Reviewed By Irishdudeguy88 - San Francisco, United States

Fun local place to have a beer with some real people. The location is what you would think of for a real brewery, a warehouse with a few picnic tables out front - we loved it! The bartender was so nice and helpful, and when she had a free second she was making nice with all the customers and warming herself in a blanket with her friend at the bar. They had tons of instruments laying in an alcove (guitar, drums, piano, PA), which makes me think they have live music, and plenty of space to sit down. Plus, their brewery is right off the Spirit Trail, so it's a quick, beautiful 10-15 min walk from the North Vancouver Seabus terminal. Try the Grumpy Unicorn IPA! They may have bottles if it's not on tap.
