An excellent living history,our guide Tom was brought up in the house that is the corner stone of this family run museum.He explains the history of Co Mayo in a clear and balanced way,so for a novice or a history buff there is plenty to learn from his story. We had been intending to visit the museum for a longtime as we are regular visitors to Co Mayo.The changes to Irish family life in just 2-3 generations are nothing short of remarkable. Happy to recommend this small museum, for older people it is a reminder, for the young it is an eye opener. Tom and Catherine were excellent and welcoming hosts, it was a great chat with tea and biscuits.

The Michael Davitt Museum is dedicated to the life and achievements of Michael Davitt - father of the Land League, International Humanitarian, Author and Parliamentarian. The Museum is housed in a Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland award winning restored church in which Michael Davitt was baptised. The museum is adjacent to the 13th Century Straide Abbey which contains some of the finest medieval carvings in Ireland. The site also features an historic graveyard in which Davitt, and other notable figures are buried, and extensive landscaped grounds, in which to walk or picnic. Food & refreshments available nearby.

What a delightful way to spend a couple of hours in this part of the world. The short video, served with refreshments, followed by a very informative tour of the memorabilia was fascinating. The guide judged his audience so well. He provided enough information to bring the material alive but without over burdening us. All questions were answered fully and the building housing the museum is delightfully refurbished, retaining all its best original features. Our guide personally took us to visit Michael Davitt’s grave. We learned so much about our history and the role Davitt played in it. Our thanks to the inspirational guide and staff of the museum. I would highly recommend this tour to all ages.

Glen Keen Farm is one of Ireland's largest working sheep farms. The Farm is equipped with a beautiful purpose built visitor centre, craft shop and cafe. Onsite demonstrations for Groups include Sheep Dog Herding, Traditional Turf Cutting and guided historical walks. Coach Group bookings accepted throughout the year. Cafe and scheduled demonstrations for walk in independent visitors is open seasonally from June to August.

My visit to Glen Keen Farm was one of the highlights of my trip to Ireland with CIE Tours. The demonstration of the sheep herding dogs was amazing and the scones were to die for: best I've ever had. Expect outstanding hospitality from the owners and staff. Don't miss this delightful stop on any tour to Ireland.

The Gallery opened its doors in May 2014 - this venture is the brainchild of three like-minded local artists Sue Basler, Victoria Foutz and Suzie Sullivan. They have created an eclectic and innovative space where clients can buy a range of handmade Irish craft in a relaxed environment, meeting the artists and seeing them at work. Over fifty of us attended a performance of Atlantic Notes which is running very Tuesday night. We received excellent treatment from Róisín and her team. Everything we asked for was provided and the venue is really suitable for wheelchair users. We travel all over the country and this show rates as one of the best we have ever seen. Our members raved about it. The concept was simple but so professionally presented and all of the cast were superb. We had some people with us who had very seldom if ever been to the west of Ireland and we can assure you they are now determined to explore all the beautiful places they saw that night. Absolutely brilliant night. Could not say enough. Do not miss this show.

We are an independently owned craft Irish whiskey distillery located in the town of Ballina, County Mayo Ireland. Situated in a beautiful setting across from the River Moy, the distillery offers guided tours, tastings, and a gift shop. You will learn how pot still Irish whiskey is made and get to enjoy a sampling of our products. The Visitor Centre is open Wednesday - Friday 10.30AM-18.00PM and Saturday's 12.00PM-17.00PM. The guided tours of the distillery are scheduled and run from Wednesday- Saturday at 12:00 PM, 13.30PM and 15:30 PM Booking online is necessary as we can only accomidate smaller groups due to the new governement restrictions. Please note our guided tours are running from August 1st please book online and read our new terms and conditions to avoid dissapointment. You will be asked to full out a health declartion and travel form for the past 14days on arrival, your co-operation at this time is appreciated. Please wear a mask or purchase one on arrival.

This tour is well worth a visit,we went as a family for a birthday treat,although the tour itself takes place in only one room is extremely interesting and informative,the lady conducting the tour was really good at her job,after the tour it was time for the taste testing,which again was very interesting,we have been on many of these tours and never experienced this type of tasting session before,really good, very relaxed ,would definitely recommend a visit

Located in the town centre this beautiful church is well worth a visit if you are strolling around Westport. Every doorway and window is decorated on the outside and the interior is simply wonderful, full of Carrera marble and mosaics. A place of serenity and calm.
