We live here and have never visited. We took our parents thinking they would like the historical part of the tour - and THEY LOVED IT. But although we thought we would like it, we had no idea how much we would love it too! It was one of the best things we have done in a long time. It's NOT just a museum as you think of it. It has the best and most interesting pieces of history on display and the owner who gives you the tour is incredibly knowledgeable about the things you really care about. He fully researched who first owned it, and how they used it. Typically there are pictures from the original owners and inventors. And he knows the details of how it works and nitty-gritty facts that we really liked to know about. We spent 2 1/2 hours and it felt like 1 hour. Normally I would get bored but this was unlike any other museum I have visited. It's impossible to explain how great it is, so just go and check it out! It's by donation, and we left a big donation, because it was so darn awesome. You have to make an appointment and they close for the winter, but check it out in the spring/summer for sure. I am so grateful to the owners who have obviously put so much effort into making this a great experience. Thank you so very, very much!!!! It's not just cars (or horseless carriages) either. There are many other turn of the century inventions such as talking machines, knitting machines, bicycles, etc.

We went in the cold of winter, and thanks to jet lag were there really early to watch the beautiful sunrise over the falls. It was a magical, quiet morning, with great views and we really enjoyed our time at the falls - the sheer power of the water is something else! Another place ticked off the list, excellent!

Sleeping Giant is a beautiful park with great camping. The water front sites on the peninsula into Marie Louise Lake were stunning, and having your own steps down to the water and views of the giant. You could swim right from your campsite although the water was still cold in August. However, beware that the sites can be very windy which made it a challenge to set up a tent! During our stay we did the Sea Lion hike on one day which was an easy walk to a great view of the sea lion. The next day we did the Top of the Giant hike. This is a full day trip even if you bike, it took us 6-7 hours and we only stopped for a quick lunch at the top. Make sure you get an early start, we started at 9am and the trail wasn't busy, but as we came down from the giant the trail was getting very busy around the noon hour. If you choose to bike in make sure you have a mountain bike and are a confident cyclist as the trail is quite rocky and muddy in areas. The walking it self is very strenuous for just over a km, as it is a straight up climb. This hike is possible to accomplish in a slow and steady manner! Once reaching the top the views are spectacular, but be prepared to work hard to get there. I would definitely like to return to explore more of the park

We spent over 6 hours here. There is so much to do and learn from. We liked the different films and the hands on exhibits. We enjoyed the underground tour of the mine it is well worth visiting a good unique experience.

When visiting Bruce Peninsula National Park, start your adventure at the Parks Canada Visitor Centre in Tobermory. Here you'll find information to help plan your visit including tips on where to go when the Cyprus Lake parking lots are full, activities for children, and recommendations on hiking trails. Don't forget the Visitor Centre also includes a natural history museum and just around the corner, a viewing tower and some great hiking trails. While you're at the Visitor Centre take in an Interpretation program. Other visitor attractions in the park include Singing Sands Beach, Halfway Log Dump with incredible views of limestone cliffs and boulder beaches, and of course the Grotto and Indian Head Cove near Cyprus Lake. Bruce Peninsula National Park also includes the popular Cyprus Lake Campground with 232 camp sites and 10 yurt accommodations. July and August are extrememly busy times in the park so plan your trip accordingly and visit the park website for information on other attractions in the area, fees, hours, park regulations and safety tips.

Even though the park is beautiful for hiking and sight seeing, my favourite spot remains the Observation Tower, high above the forest, rewarding those who climb all the way to its top with an incredible view of the point where Huron Lake meets Georgian Bay, way on the far horizon.

We are a group of nature lovers and decided to book a cottage there for a weekend getaway. It was a unique experience for us. The cottage was clean, comfy, well furnished, and a decent place to stay. There’s also a nice restaurant close by. The highlight of the trip was the Canopy Walk tour, with canoeing and hiking. It was fun and we love it!! Ted and Page were amazing in their jobs. If you love nature and the outdoors, Haliburton Forest is the place to be...Lakes, forest, trails, wildlife...We got to see the wolves at the Wolves Centre and strong packs of huskies (for winter dog sledding). The staff were nice and very helpful. Be aware that there’s a swarm of mosquitoes (in June). Just come prepared. Other than that, it was our first time in HFWR and we had a great time. Highly recommended.

This was well worth the drive out from the Soo. The museum is interactive and fun for the whole family. This place topped our list of favourite science museums. Many of the exhibits are easy for younger kids to operate themselves. Our kids are 7,10 and 12. Perfect ages as they can read instructions and explore the displays themselves and so could we. The various levels space out people on the various floors and there was only one activity in the whole place that we could not get to because it was busy. Otherwise we saw everything! We arrived at 11 and left at 6pm! Got the day pass that included planetarium and Imax...well worth it and it gives you a few mintues to relax . It is a busy funfilled day. The blue coats are engaging and encourage the kids to participate, knowledagble and help to create a fun buzz.The Energy and flying squirrels demos were fantastic! Keep a look out for the beaver, porcurine and snapping turtle (especially when the blue coats take them outside)
