A MUST if you visit San MIguel de Tucumán, it's a very well organized museum where you can really enjoy history, getting to know the historical house where Argentina was born as an independent country. This place is interesting by any standard, but your experience will be totally different if you arrange a guided tour of the premises. We had an amazing guide who gave us in-depth understanding of the politics, economy, history, architecture and art of this place as well as the whole area. You come out so enriched - the tour was supposed to be an hour but lasted two and all was free of charge. If you have time after this visit, do watch the movie "The Mission" with Jeremy Irons and Robert De Niro (1986) - you will have a good understanding of what really happened here during the time of the Jesuits. For English tour reservations call 03547-421303.
