Top 10 Spas & Wellness in Killarney, Province of Munster

June 2, 2021 Carley Gatson

Forget fashionable footwear, only your most comfortable shoes will cut it in Killarney. It's a walking town, and every trail is a history lesson. Journey on foot through Ireland's first national park, 26,000 acres of woodlands, sandstone mountains and low-lying lakes. When your feet wear out, take in Killarney National Park via boat from Ross Castle. And because there are more hotel beds in Killarney than in any other Irish town or city (besides Dublin), you'll always have a place to rest your head (and feet).

I had a full body massage and facial. I have had many massages throughout life and this was the best ever. Due to my work my shoulders and back can get quite sore. Now I feel like a new person. Thank you very much. Catherine

Wow, what a great massage. This is without a doubt the best Body Work Therapy I have ever gotten done. Tony is amazing at what he does. I was down from Dublin so unfortunately I can't have Tony as a Regular masseur. But even knowing this Tony still took time to go through after care stretches and even sent me a list of exercises that I can do at home. Great Value, great experience. Don't think twice about booking Tony. Simply Amazing.

Returned once again to the Angsana Spa and vitality suite. The COVID19 procedures were excellent - loads of information upon booking and I had to complete a medical questionnaire prior to arriving. The vitality suite was still fab despite the sauna steam room and a few other facilities not being available due to COVID19. The pool is always a delight and just the perfect temperature. I enjoyed some lemongrass tea in the relaxation room while I waited for my treatment. My massage therapist was amazing and I wish I had gotten her name to pass on the compliments. She explained everything clearly beforehand and made me very comfortable. It was so relaxing and one of the best massages I've had. The refreshments afterwards always just top it off! Who doesn't like fresh fruit and juice? Will definitely be back again!

The Spa @ The Killarney Park Hotel

Whilst staying at The Killarney Park Hotel my husband and I spent a relaxing hour or so at the Spa. The Spa and pool are beautiful, relaxing areas and very well maintained as you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. We both had a back massage and I had a mini facial - all of which we enjoyed. The treatment rooms are very comfortable and the staff friendly and polite. The Relaxation room we were taken to after our treatments was just that - low lighting with a starry effect in the ceiling, a bubbling aquarium, reclining chairs with matching footstools and blankets and the offer of water, juice, tea or coffee. An added unexpected extra was the little pot of yoghurt and crunchy muesli topping which accompanied our drinks. Often it's the small touches which lift an experience to something a bit more special.

Today I went with a friend for the half day spa package as it was my birthday today. While many items such as sauna, steam room, Ice fountain was not available due to the Coronavirus, the visit was still an enjoyable one. One exceptional reason was the therapist I had. Her name was Veronica. She was beyond excellent. I had a back massage that was fantastic. My back was completed entangled in knots and seized up. She worked each and every knot out. Even the ones I didn’t know existed and the ones that took a great deal of time to work out. She started off the treatment by placing hot clothes on my feet and then worked her hands and arms from my hip bones to the top of my neck, kneading and soothing out tension. After all of that she gave me a lovely facial and a fantastic head massage. I have been to other spa’s around Ireland and I have yet to meet a person as qualified as her. Once finished she told me that she is a trained physio therapist and it really showed. She paid such attention to the massage I knew I had a person who thoroughly enjoys their job and wants to do the best job possible. She told me as I knew that my back was fairly tight and how I should try to get a massage weekly. If I was lucky enough to live in Killarney, she would be the woman I would go to. She recommended lovely products to me and was ever so kind. I think she has only started working recently in the Spa- so I really hope she sees this and gets the praise she so highly deserves! Thank you so much Veronica! A tip for the hotel- please organize gardening staff to cut trees and mow grass on a Monday or a day the spa isn’t open. It was hard to relax in the relaxation room with all the noise from strimmers and lawnmowers while men in hivis jackets walked by looking in at us. Other than that I really enjoyed my stay and hope to be back when in better times so I can enjoy all the amenities not available for us today!
