My "aches & pains" treatment went far above and beyond a mere massage. After asking me about my pains and physical history, a treatment was customised to my needs and problems. From deep tissue massage to herbal compresses and even scraping, this was a deeply personal treatment that focused on my severe shoulder pain and carpal tunnel syndrome. I'm not "all better" - but I have more range of motion than I've had in months and can already feel my muscles loosening. You're given instructions for how to make lifestyle changes to prevent issues from recurring, plus given "after care" instructions about how to maximise your healing benefits from the treatment. I'll be going back for regular treatments in an effort to get my shoulders and knee in proper working order! Quiet, restful environment in a convenient location, wonderful owners and therapists, and just an absolutely ideal experience for someone who's not interested in a spa-type beauty treatment but truly wants help addressing deep-seated physical issues or pain. The owners and therapists are caring, considerate people who take the time to talk to you and get to know you and your issues - and your interests and life! Best of all, you get to experience a calming, delightful Chinese tea ceremony at the end of your treatment - and if you are a tea aficionado, you'll be treated to fabulous conversation and perhaps a rare pu-ehr or two! Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Visited the salon today for a long-awaited priori facial and it was well worth the wait! Eden, (the therapist) “thank you for a great natter and relaxing treatment” ( difficult to get that balance, but you did ????). This salon is fantastic and I say this as a lady who seeks out instant result facials and Zen never fails to deliver! I live in Essex and when coming home to Scotland I crave a great facial and Zen is the place! Thank you for the lovely experience and instant results. One of the best salons or THEE best salons for facials, I’ve experienced in the UK.

I've been missing regular massages so much throughout lockdown and I was delighted to see The Shore was re-opening. The whole place has had a really cool makeover with new colours, exposed brickwork and a simpler style. But the best bit was the treatment. Totally relaxing and just what was needed after a difficult few months. The whole experience felt relaxed but safe with clear instructions, hand sanitiser and air purifier meaning I could just switch off and chill out. My back, neck and shoulders had developed a few lumps, bumps and tight muscles from months of working from home and the treatment from Kate had me feeling relaxed and in much better shape. Great to see wonderful local businesses opening again and the staff so happy and pleased to see clients coming back.

Right after I book my airline tickets to fly to Edinburgh for the festival, I make my reservations with Andrea Baxter – even before I get tickets to any shows. She is a true healer who, in just a couple visits, is able to make headway on longstanding injuries. She zeros-in on areas of tension and strain, and works with the muscle to determine the best way to alleviate the problems. If you are hiking in Scotland, or attending the festival, there isn’t a better way to ensure your visit is pain free and full of stamina than a session with Andrea or one of the members of her team.

I have been to see Douglas twice now since January and will continue to see him. The two times I have been I have had a full body two hour massage. What was great is the second massage I got had some differences to the first one but still just as amazing. Douglas uses a lot different techniques for a massage while still getting all those knot areas and sore parts I needed unwinding. Douglas makes you feel extremely comfortable and takes the time to speak with you about what will work best. He again gave me the choice of how to proceed, whether on the table or the chair or a mix of both. Unlike other massage therapists he doesn't take all of the 'talking time' off of the 'hands on' time so you don't feel like you need to rush the initial conversation. I am very happy i got a gift voucher for Douglas and will not be going to anywhere else from now on.
