Top 10 Spas & Wellness in Cork, Province of Munster

August 6, 2021 Etsuko Causey

Plan to cross many bridges when in Cork. Ireland's third-largest city began life as an island and now spans both banks of the River Lee, with watery channels running beneath some of its main thoroughfares. The best way to experience this hilly southern seaport is on foot, following the signposted walking tour past St. Finn Barre's Cathedral and the riverside quadrangle of University College up the hill to red and white Shandon Church. Along the way, you'll meet plenty of the city's talkative residents.

Visited Escape Spa with four friends, absolute bliss. Melissa who looked after our booking was so friendly on booking I knew we were going to have a great visit. We spent an hour in the vitality suite (pool, sauna and steam room), followed by a body massage ( Elizabeth who gave me my massage was excellent and asked which area I would like her to concentrate on). We then had time in the relaxation room, perfect end to our visit. An oasis in the middle of Cork city. I would recommend the Escape to anyone looking for a few hours relaxation in the centre of Cork city. No need to travel any further, just into the heart of the city. We will be back, for sure.

Had my first float today, from the moment you walk in the door there is a relaxing and calming atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and welcoming which adds to the experience. I chilled out in the back room with a cup of tea after my float and flipped through the notepads that were there which made for very interesting post float reading. I highly recommend doing it after your float as it gives you time to sit with the experience and just continue with the relaxation and the carpet in the room feels absolutely amazing on your bare feet! I will definitely be returning for another float in the future.

I visited Boutique Spa in Hayfield Manor twice now and both times I was extremely happy with everything. The therapist, Rachel, addressed concerns I had in relation to my skin and recommended a treatment that left my skin feeling fresh, plumped and tightened up. The whole experience including a head and arm massage was so relaxing. What I really like about this Spa in particular is that they use a range of Elemis products which I find very good and the effects last for a long time. I felt 10 years younger! The hotel itself is stunning and located on the beautiful grounds with a lot of greenery, which creates a nice setting from the moment you step in, followed by a very relaxing atmosphere and beautiful smell in the spa itself. I wholeheartedly recommend this spa and therapist Rachel. Thank you so much for a great experience and taking care of my skin!

For womens little christmas this year myself and my gorgeous mother treated ourselves to a spa day at the fota island resort and it exceed our expectations. We enjoyed complimentary use of the hydro pool and thermal suite pre treatments, highly recommend using both and to arrive at least 40mins prior to treatment time. We both booked in for 1hr massages, 1hr facial and scalp treatment. I had kadie who was so professional and amazing at your job. She made me feel completely comfortable and transported me to another world for a couple of hours. The spa is only devine, the facilities, decor, everything is world class. After our treatments we were taken to the scantum, to relax on lounges and given smoothies, fruit and treats while we watched the sunset. It was such a magical day and we couldnt have felt more spoilt. Also just want to thank Gosia the spa manager. Who was so welcoming and kind and we cant wait to return. Do yourself a favour and book now

Maryborough Hotel Spa

Reviewed By lauramT5350NA

A well deserved 5 star review of the Maryborough Hotel for our wedding in September 2019! Ellis was our wedding co-ordinator and she was so pleasant and helpful from start to finish. The Orangery was perfect for our wedding ceremony. The beautiful gardens are right outside so we did not have to step away from the guests for photos for too long during the drinks reception. The set up in the Orangery for the drinks reception is beautiful, it was amazing how quickly they turned it around from ceremony to drinks reception, which was great as it did not take time out of our day. Most of the staff were excellent in the hotel, we felt like celebrities, every time we turned around to ask for something there was someone there to help. The food was amazing, we just could not fault it, such high quality and presented beautifully, All of our guest commented afterwards on how good the food was. The late night buffet food really surpassed our expectations, it was also excellent quality and delicious. We stayed in 2 different suites, the bridal suite the night of the wedding and the junior suite the night after and both were just so beautiful and luxurious, really the nicest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. There were so many nice small details also, the hotel sent us up a bottle of champagne the afternoon after the wedding which was a lovely surprise! All in all it was wonderful and Maryborough are so experienced in weddings, we would highly recommend as a wedding venue.
