Reviews on South American food in Nazca, Ica Region, Peru. Taking a light aircraft flight over the plains 200 miles south of Lima is the best way to appreciate the Nasca Lines, the World Heritage-designated geoglyphs etched into the stony desert surface. The creators and meaning behind these startlingly precise abstracts and animal figures remain a mystery, but their 1939 discovery launched a steady swarm of tourists upon this tiny town – accessible via bus from Lima, Cusco and Arequipa.

Coffe Break is a small cozy bakery that serves tasty toasted sandwiches and big yummy pieces of the huge selection of freshly baked cakes. A nice change from the horribly touristy restaurants along the rest of the street. Recommended for a quick lunch or snack.
Locate just off the main tourist drag in Nazca, the Zhi-Chifa restaurant offers relatively fast/definitely cheap "Chifa" food, the Peruvian version of "Chinese" food, more Cantonese than anything else. Fried rices are good, as are wok stir-fried or soup noodle dishes. Tough to do the Spanish to maybe Chinese to English translation of the menu. Staff of not helpful of course, but that par for the course.

We had two daily menus and ended up taking away more than enough for dinner. Very affordable, and with a real sense of peruvian chifa.

We had a really good night here - it is very touristy with lots of tour groups but great fun with live music and good pisco sours!! I had pollo a la plancha (grilled chicken breast) with salad which was delicious and my husband had a goat stew which he enjoyed a lot. Service is a bit slow as they were very busy but a good night overall.

The food was average though the portion sizes were on the larger side. The taste was reasonable and not necessarily extraordinary. The strange thing about this chain/franchise was that it felt like we had been transported back to a North American fast food joint. Teenagers working and the decor was particularly... McDonald's-esque. Not that it was terrible food! It was average tasty and we were served by young kids with the best effort in English. If you're in a bind, I would say this could do the trick but if you wanted to get a better and more authentic experience, check out some of the other restaurants in the area--afterall, Nazca isn't all that big.

This restaurant had high recommendations so we tried their menu ejecutivo. First, the few positives: the staff was very nice. They also had the best chicha morada Iâve ever had. We had a chicken timbale appetizer that was good. Now the rest: we had almost an hour for lunch before we had to catch our bus and informed them of our time frame. Almost no customers but the main dishes didnât come until we had to leave so we missed dessert and took take-away boxes. I had milanesa and my husband the lomo saltado. They were both so bad (and mine was burnt) that we threw them away. So bad that I feel sick just thinking of them. Did I say awful? The owner is very nice and speaks fluent English. He apologized for the wait and said he only had one cook. Perhaps he had lost whatever cook made the food others praised in past reviews. If you want to try it , have a chat with the owner. Maybe whatever kitchen problem they had has been solved. He is very nice and deserves another chance. Hopefully things will have changed

Good Italian food in the middle of Peru. Everything was delicious, from wine to pizzas and pastas. There is a stone oven for the pizzas and an open kitchen in the large restaurant. The waiters are very professional. We are happy to come back.
