In October 2019 my brother and I had the pleasure to visit Chitwan National Park under the guidance of (Kumar) Lama. After a long bus ride from Kathmandu we were welcomed at the Earth Light Hotel. The had everything we needed, and more! The place was well-maintained, clean, had a swimming pool and the (all inclusive) meals were good. The staff was very polite. During the three days, Lama had prepared a program for us which included various activities such as jungle canoeing, visiting an elephant pharm, a local village an dance show. The absolute highlight was the jungle walk where we encountered a rhinoceros! I would describe Lama as a helpful, professional, sincere and enthusiastic guide. After the three days it felt like we made a friend! We hope Lama and the hotel are doing well and we wish him and his family all the best during these difficult Covid times. Best regards from Amsterdam, Eric.

Langtang valley trekking is a small and beautiful valley that lies just south of the Tibetan border. It is between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. Langtang Lirung (7246m) dominates the valley to the north; Gang Chhenpo (6388m) and Naya Kangri (5864m) lie to the south; and Dorge Lakpa (69866m) protects the east end of the valley. The area was designated Nepal's first Himalayan national park in 1971. This high and isolated region is inhabited by Tamangs whose religious practices, language and dress are much more similar to those of Tibet than to the traditions of their cousins in the Middle Hills. Langtang valley trekking offers an opportunity to explore villages, climb small peaks and visit glaciers at a comfortably low elevation. According to legend a lama following a runaway yak discovered the valley. Hence the name- lang is Tibetan for 'yak' and teng (more correctly dhang) means 'to follow'.

He was great company and we would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a safe and enjoyable trek.
