The Temple Hill Park makes Alūksne the highest town in Latvia. In ancient times it was a Latgalian castle mound but nowadays the top pf the hill is decorated with the Temple of Fame - the granite rotunda built in 1807 on the order of Baron von Vietinghoff. Nearby there is a pedestrian bridge called the Sun Bridge.

I definitely recommend visiting the church built in the highest sea level in Latvia.It was also interesting for children, because the landscapes are fantastic.

The tower is located in a very beautiful environment, where it will be especially beautiful in spring. You can listen to birdsong and watch nature. A good adventure with small children, because along the tower leads an interesting nature trail.

Itš one of the most romantic places in Alūksne. You can enjoy calm walks around castle island ar Livonian Order castle ruins. There is a cozy cafe on the island and in summer rich active leisure opportunities.

We were a group of friends and decided to a spent nice evening on a lake. Onboard we enjoyed the snacks we took with us and listened to an audio guide who told a legend about the creation of the lake islands. The captain of the ship was very responsive and was able to tell various interesting facts. A boat trip is a great activity that I recommend everyone to enjoy.

Alūksne New Palace is surrounded by a park with oak trees planted in the 18th century. The park is unique for its small architectural buildings. An exciting walk along its paths visiting the Aeolus' temple, the Granite Obelisk, the Alexander's Pavilion, and other buildings that leads to the palace with Neo-Gothic nobility cannot be found in any other place in Latvia.
