Top 10 Shopping in Central Norway, Central Norway

December 11, 2021 Hector Krause

The central Norwegian area of Trondelag has its ideological capital in Trondheim, founded by Viking king Olaf Tryggvason in the 10th century and the seat of Norway's power until the 13th. Today, it's still the country's third-largest city, a university town with a rich culture. Trondelag's western offshore islands of Hitra and Froya are popular for outdoor adventures like camping, hiking, biking, snorkeling and scuba diving. They are also one of the world's best spots for deep sea fishing.

Inga Dalsegg, Dalalaven Atelier

You can find the artist Inga Dalsegg in her art studio Dalalaven Atelier in the centre of Rindal. Inga is a figurative artist; she works with oil paintings on canvas and papyrus, drawings, lithographs and also pumpkin carvings. In addition to having her art studio here, this old restored barn also combines as an art gallery and a small shop where she sells a large variety of art merchandise. There is something for everyone and in every price range here! The opening times do vary, as she also travels with her art to various exhibitions and fairs. But in general it is open every day while she is working. Just to make sure it could be a good idea to contact her first. Inga lives just around the corner and is also happy to open the art studio on request on evenings and weekends. Inga is a member of the Norwegian Visual Artists Association, her paintings have been purchased by several large companies and she has participated in around 80 art exhibitions around the world

Beautiful location for an art studio! You quite literally step into the artist's workspace, while admiring the exhibited art - which range from the cosy and gentle, to the erotic and the thought-provoking. Ms. Dalsegg herself is a great host, and provides insight both into her art, the history of the building (a significantly refurbished barn!) and that of the surrounding area. She also runs the gallery shop, selling specially selected items and products Ms. Dalsegg has designed or curated herself. Very well worth a visit!

Loved this place!! Just visiting this store is an experience worth the while! From you arrive, you get blown away by all the colour`s and forms. It is easy to fall in love with this shop. We had a hard time deciding what to choose, but ended up with two bags of lovely cups and a bowl.
