Lovely homemade pasta dish with fresh shellfish, it was the only choice, one dish for all as it was not yet high season.Homemade olives and his own wine.We don't speak Italian, and he didn't speak much English, but we were served and understood very well, and the food was delicious.

We arrived in Racale mid day, before the season and were surprised to find most places closed. Fortunately we found the great restaurant with delicious food, plenty of vegetables. Great service and great food.

based on rating and the fact that it was crowded, we have decided to have a dinner at this restaurant.the starters were miniature samples, nothing to write home about, the seafood pasta was not bad, although it looked and tasted like a rewarmed dish rather than a freshly prepared.the fresh tuna steak was horrible, first it was very thin, secondly in was wrapped with breadcrumbs all over, the color was very pale, unlike the bloody Tuna fish I had arround the world...frankly I don't know what it was, I could not Identify this piece of fish.but the big surprise was the invoice...the descriptions on the invoice did not match what we have had, but they told us it is the same, and a bottle of a local beer was charged EURO 14.00!!!So in total we have paid EURO 70.00 OUT OF WHICH 28.00 WERE TWO BOTTLES OF LOCAL BEER (not a good one)there are better options in this village without beeing shaken down.BEWARE !!!

Azzurra (or Pizzeria Azzurra) was much better than anticipated. I guess because the setting was so summer-touristy perfect (elevated outdoor patio overlooking the trees and the pedestrian walkway overlooking the ocean) I thought maybe the food couldn't match the ambiance. Also nice elevated seating indoors overlooking the open kitchen. Very attractive, upscale setting, equaled or exceeded by the food.If you are thinking U.S. pizzeria you are waaaaay off from the extensive offerings here. The menu (which, interestingly, listed in great detail all the food allergy info for all their dishes) had more than 20 really interesting pizzas. In addition, there was were many fish, shellfish and pasta offerings.I had a fantastic prosciutto and cheese white pizza with a thin, thin light crust. Mary ha fresh fish fillets sauteed with zucchini and sweet peppers. She said it was the best fish dish in the previous week (of eating fish practically every night).Extensive and very reasonably priced beers and also wines by the glass. Delightful (and very patient explaining the non-English menu to us) waitress who really gave us great service.Just a great meal and lovely setting for a grand total of 45E. Can't be beat. (BTW, if you want a table with a view as nice as ours, I strongly suggest you ask your lodging host to phone in a reservation.)

We stopped by this place because it was close to our beach apartment. We were looking for a nice place to have an aperitivo and this place was exactly what we were looking for. Very good mojitos with a beautiful sunset. We also decided to stay for dinner and we were pleasently surprised with the very delicious seafood menu. We ordered mussels, alici, and the spigola fish ...all very good. I would definately recommend this place!!!

we were here in the end of September and came across this restaurant... the food is amazing, we stayed at Torre San Giovanni 3 days and every day we went to dinner there. We had a verry tasty octopus in a local sauce, the first day I can say the best octopus I have ever tried. Then we had also shrimps and other see food which was also amazing.... but beside the food (which was great) the owner was really friendly, after dinner we stayed there for hours talking to him about different topics, and we even met his son, and became friends, the last day we stayed there till 1:30 after dinner... Mr. Orazio is really an nice, very funny and friendly person, go here for the good food and also to meet Orazio, he makes such an atmosphere in his restaurant that is hard to find elsewhere.

We found it just because we saw it walking on the street. They placed my friends and me on a table with no plates, glasses and other things like forks,.. We asked for pizza and they told us to wait 30 minutes, so suggested us to get something as starters. So what? We asked and they told us. We have everything they answered. Results: a small french fries dish and another with corcquttes. Finally we had a pizza (brick oven) ..... not so good. 9⬠each. Not suggested.

Abbiamo avuto il piacere di cenare qui durante un breve soggiorno in Salento. Al momento della prenotazione ci hanno chiesto di scegliere l'orario tra due turni; abbiamo capito che è un modo per organizzare meglio il lavoro ed avere più tempo da dedicare ai singoli tavoli. Abbiamo ordinato due diversi taglieri di formaggi e salumi della zona, verdure e friselle, puccia salentina una buona bottiglia di Negramaro e alla fine 2 spumoni e un piatto misto di tolci tipici. Ad ogni portata ci è stata accompagnata dalla descrizione e provenienza dele varie pietanze. Tutto veramente ottimo. Personale gentile e attento. rapporto qualità prezzo eccellente.
