This local restaurant is located by the sea road in Roccella. They have a big outdoor seating area. Their pastas are super tasty as well as their pizzas.The rates are very moderate.I highly recommend their (impepata di cozze) muscles with black pepper.Service is fast.Recommended.

We have have visited here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. The reinvented dishes of the region's "cucina tipica" are superb. Fresh, local seafood prepared in a variety of ways - raw, steamed, baked, etc. - is always excellent. The traditional, refined, and upscale surroundings added to our experience. The owner and wait staff are warm, welcoming, and always professional. Whenever we visit the Ionian coast of Calabria, a visit to Gambero Rosso is an absolute must!

We were guests of the Parco dei Principi hotel, and we had discounted price for stay at the beach . It was well spend money, beach well attendend, stunning see, water best we ever had in Europe (including Greek islands), food superb and inspirstional, prices reasonabble (average price per primo 8-10euto). Service 5+ for each person we met there, thank you all.

Don't order the house wine or pizzas... We got back to the apartment and had to queue for the toilet the food was so bad...we where there 4 years ago and didn't like it then either but thought we'd try it again... Big mistake .

Although passed this restaurant many many times for years, about twice a day when going fishing, never venture in until this year and I was very impressed. The decor was in a word stunning, and the service was very good. As you can imagine being near the port of Roccella it is one of the best fresh Seafood Restaurants, as there was 6 of us we all had a mixture of Anti paste 1 Prawn cocktail, 1 involtini of swordfish 2 octopus and 2 seafood(mixed)plates with prawns smoked tuna and salmon which we all enjoyed, next 3 men had spaghetti marinara, then we all had different main too long for details, everyone agree that the food and service excellent,we also had sweets and coffee, would recommend that anyone visiting in South of Calabria to have dinner here.âï¸

We literally blew into Roccella Ionica on a sailboat for an unplanned layover while trying it avoid a storm. Because we had not planned a stop here, we didn't know much about the area, so asked locals for a restaurant recommendation for lunch. We were directed to Ristorante Exclusive. Off the main road, behind a drab looking building was a beautiful gem of a restaurant, a very fancy looking white table cloth establishment. We were a little reluctant to enter, as we were dressed very casually. But once inside we saw all the other diners were as casual. The dress is probably nicer at the dinner. We were warmly welcomed and couldn't have asked for better service. We ordered 3 appetizers....a mixed seafood plate, frito misto veggies and a meat & cheese plate; then primi for our main course.....seafood and meat sauce ravioli. Everything was delicious and fresh. All the portions were plentiful enough to take leftovers back to the boat for another meal the following day.A little side note: we set out to bicycle that day, but it was so windy that I opted to catch a cab from the marina to town to meet my husband and our friends, who cycled in. When we were ready to leave the restaurant, I asked the waiter if he would call a cab for me. He responded that his shift was over and he would be happy to take me back to the marina. You can't ask for better service than that!

Went with friends for lunch, the interior of the restaurant is very cozy and comfortable. They serve very fresh seafood in huge portion! Make sure you go with total empty stomach. Surprisingly they do serve spaghetti with hot sauce! It taste sooo good!Hope I could visit here again! Salute!

My husband and I decided to try it for Sunday lunch. Our expectations were high from the reviews and recommendations of friends. The location and restaurant itself is stunning. The staff were friendly and well informed about menu choices. We ordered an antipasto to share and it came quickly, a good selection of Calabrian cheeses and salamis. This was the highlight of the meal. We each choose a pasta dish, and asked for a half portion of both on each plate, which was no problem at all. The pasta in tomato sauce with some pork and meatballs was fine but nothing spectacular. The gnocchi with a pesto/courgette sauce was really disappointing. It was bland and neither the gnocchi nor the sauce tasted of anything. We didn't feel like ordering a another course, because nothing appealed and we were so underwhelmed with our pasta dishes. We ordered a coffee and an ice cream and asked if we could have this outside so we could enjoy the views. Also there was a large group with lots of children and it was very noisy at this point. It took 3 go's to get my coffee order right, they somehow thought I had ordered decaf when in fact I had asked for a macchiato. It was ok and my husbands icecream was OK. We paid 45 euro, we also had a bottle of water and 2 glasses of red wine.I feel that for the quality and price there are much better restaurants in the area and the location alone does not make up for a lacklustre experience.

Was recommended to try this restaurant so thought it be worth a visit. Location is just outside of Gioiosa towards Roccella, nice setting and plenty of garden space, well decorated and professional looking set up. Staff pleasant enough and service was adequate. Ordered the risotto which to my liking was slightly stodgy and one clump! Starter was fine as just meats and cheese board.The steak was ok but could have been trimmed better to remove excess fat and the fatty bits as it was ordered rare - medium the fat was not properly cooked off. Tried the recommended wine which was not all that but drinkable. In all bit pricey and not as good as was expected as the rave reviews did not match up. In all fairly mediocre but pleasant enough... stick to the basic menu and donât worry about the over rated menu

Thursday night late June, this excellent small restaurant was less than busy but the experience far exceeded expectations. The cuisine was cross-over Calabrian/North African. Part of a cooperative standing up for Immigrants and resisting local mafiosi, the menu was eclectic and delicious. Friendly, amusing service and great value for money. The town is a summer holiday spot for Calabrians and other Italians but still very sleepy in late June mid-week. Excellent Yacht Marina just outside the town as an en route stop-over for cruising yachts between Sicily and the Greek Islands.Thank you very much!
