From start to finish this was a super experience. Seating is spread across several areas and each one has its own charm. The wait staff were warm and welcoming and explained in detail the dishes I asked about. We both had scallops to start. There were four plump scallops on each plate and they were super tasty. The tagliata, an Italian sliced beef dish was so good and again a very generous portion. The beef fillet was also melt in the mouth cooked as requested and served with roasted veg. The atmosphere is charming and I felt, even though there were many tourists about we were emmersed in a truly Italian experience.

we went there for lunch. u can see that it's full with locals. we tried the grilled seafood, spaghetti and pizza. all of them really good. but their tiramisu? although it doesn't look it, it's definitely one of the best we've had.

Was about 7 years ago I have been here but still great fun...fish only and as long as you do not say stop you get more which goes for the wine, the limoncellos, the expresso and the grappas as well. Very good value for money, friendly service and fun place to be

Beautiful panoramic view over the lake Garda. Just sit down, relax and enjoy your wine and food :) Homemade pasta, calamari and dolce were delicious. The staff was friendly and the location was amazing. All dished you can take for two and share, then you get more delicious food to taste.

Very nice, very professional staff.Trout boned and served at table side etc.Complimentary drinks etc.Apart from a screaming child, that cannot be blamed on restaurant, it was lovely.Recommended.

This Osteria is in the major street in town and recommend by the hotel I stayed in. They also offered discount with mentioning of my hotel, very hospitable and friendly staff. The food is authentic, gigantic portion and like mamaâs cooking. You will have a great time eating here. Better make reservation if it is busy season.

Stumbled across this little jewel of a restaurant while strolling through the back streets of Garda. We certainly werenât disappointed and were warmly greeted with a complimentary glass of aperol as we sat down. We shared a cold cuts and cheese platter which was lovely followed by a fresh tomato basil and red onion pizza which was the best weâve tasted on this trip. I recently returned from a two-week vacation in the Veneto region, of which the highlight was -- of course -- eating. And I had expected this place to be among the best. The reality was quite the contrary: it was easily the most disappointing culinary experience.The only dish that lived up to the hype was the "buon Ricardo" dish of crepes with local perch filling. These were indeed magnificent, melt-in-your-mouth light and creamy. Another member of our party had spinach risotto with shrimp, which was creatively presented, but not out-of-this world; the shrimp were far from the most succulent I had seen this region.What really disappointed was our main dish of Lake Garda pike. The fish itself was slightly overcooked. The overall dish was extremely bland, with an unidentifiable white sauce; I had guessed it might be hollandaise, but it had none of the tang of hollandaise. Additionally, the waitstaff did not get our order right; they brought the risotto first, then two plates of the Lake Garda pike. Somehow they missed the fact that another member of our party had ordered the buon Ricardo plate. This isn't an earth-shattering mistake, but this place is trying to present an image of formalistic, "old world" service. What comes across is is a vague sense of decadence and disinterest, in a way a bit reminiscent of the movie THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL.We enjoyed the flourless chocolate truffles given as a complementary dessert, and the pre-dinner glass of spumanti. Overall, however, I'd say Albergo Gardesana is riding on its reputation. (It's hosted celebrities such as Maria Callas, Churchill, and the Kennedys in previous years.) It needs a new chef with an envigorated menu.

Everything at this restaurant was praiseworthy, from the room, to the food, the wine, and especially the service, as nine English speakers (and one Italian referee) undoubtedly tested our server's patience with our barrage of questions, our requests for off-menu items, and changing the order of our courses. Elegant might be the best way to describe it all. The dishes were all beautifully presented, and the flavours complex and delicious. Desserts were superb too.
