At first impression I do agree with one of the latest reviews regarding a very cold welcome. Even though we were there with a friend of us which is a kind of local/familiar. But at the end they changed behaviour and basically the more you talked...the better you could finally communicate with.
Now food: there are few nice starters as you can see from the photos; pizza/ham/fegatini ragu....all perfect for waiting the real issue which is the amazing steak....all served in the middle tray as per foto
Super and easy local Sangiovese by Villa Calappiano(which I also bought for home). Finally (and unfortunately for my belly) superb home made tiramisu and creme caramel

Pity this restaurant wasn't busier, the first time we sat outside and the tables filled up during the evening, the second time (Friday night!) we were the ONLY diners! however the food was great good pasta, good steak Florentine and delicious pork fillet. all round good meal and friendly service, just lacked a bit of atmosphere inside. easy location to miss as not near other good restaurants.

Super fantastic discovery. Looks like an empty deli when entered but proceed downstairs and you'll find a cosy dining room. You will be greeted by a wonderful lady who speaks good English while husband is busy in the kitchen cooking local dishes with seasonal ingredients. Excellent quality price ratio. You won't be disappointed.

I had a great time in this place for a casual work dinner with colleagues. Very comfortable furniture and decor, airy atmosphere. Great friendly service from top notch true professionals. Tiny portions of fresh high quality ingredients combined, cooked and presented in very original manner. This is a VERY light dinner of high quality for a surprisingly small price considering the preparation and study involved. Careful - not everyone will appreciate talking more than eating, choose your companions with care!!!

Perfect service, with a perfect view and perfect food. It was an ideal night out. Highly recommend the 'tagliata'. I never had such a delicious meal with grilled meat. For Italian standards the restaurant might be a bit expensive, but I think it is certainly worth it. Enjoy!

We stayed here for one night on our cycling holiday. The hosts made us most welcome with a drink on our arrival and sorted us our with a table for dinner which was excellent.
Our accommodation was very comfortable but unfortunately at the bottom of a very steep hill!!!
Most enjoyable stay.

I never ever had such salt food. The crostine were like taking a bite out of the sea. Just awefull. The caprese is a laugh, the mozzarella is of the cheap kind you find in the supermarkets. You wont see me here if you do decide to pay this place a visit.

the setting looks ok with a pool and such.however the food is below average and quite expensive.worse even they tried to charge us more money than the menu allowed.we had some stupid explanations for that as if the english menu was not the binding one.they even changed the prices by hand when we complained.very sad!

The restaurant interior has a glad and a little romantic atmosphere. Elisabetta gives a very professional and friendly service and, first of all the meals are very well prepared. The restaurant Osteria de’Nichi provided consistent top quality during the first 3 visits. It is great that all the delicious dishes are gluten free, including the home baked "coperto" bread and pizza's! And even the best beer, Daura Damm, is available. Family and friends will enjoy the better and affordable food just as much.

My wife and I ate here on our honeymoon. Our Italian is not the best, but we were made very welcome. We were educated on the cuisine and shared wedding photos with the owners. The food was squisito!
