I ate dinner once at this place.
It is a traditional restaurant, with a lot of woodwork that also serves as breakfast room for hotel Paradis, which is in the same building. The restaurant is rather big and on a Saturday evening, there were around 10 guests.
I had the pea soup for as a starter, which was basically peas and croutons. I added some pepper and salt and in the end it was not too bad.
I had a bit of a surprise when the main dish was served. I ordered pork tenderloin. The meat was so overcooked I thought I had bricks in my plate. The fact that the knife was not very sharp did not help either. The homemade croquettes were not to my liking either.
If there will be a next time, I will certainly order something else.

This modest non-smoking restaurant was a pleasant surprise, located on a hillside tucked away from the town center. We saw families, couples, and a group of women friends all enjoying the relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. The food was fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed a delicious pizza with a crackly thin crust, prosciutto, and spicy tomato sauce, a comforting cream of broccoli soup, and freshly grilled Balkan vegetables garnished with grated cheese. Alas, we were too full for dessert! We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others!

We are a family of five, and we came across this place not planned. We were very happy to see a complete english menu, with salads, pizzas and pasta.
We ordered a large greek salad, 2 margarita pizzas and a vegeterian pizza. For drinks we had a beer, pink lemonade and an ice tea. All the food is delicious. The service was friendly and fast.
Overall, a good experience and i recommened stopping there for lunch if youre nearby.

We have discovered, unfortunately only too late, this hiddne gem of a restaurant this past weekend. Visiting Liberec, we were looking for a decent place for lunch and luckily we had stumbled upon this venue.
Beautifully restored old smith house. Professional, attentive, pleasant service and the food ranks among the best eaten in a long time.
When selecting the Seating area, aim for the covered Terrace with large windows looking at Jested Tower. A must visit for any gourmet and make sure you sample anything from the Josper grill!

Good menu choice. Food well prepared and presented. Service friendly and helpful. Good prices. Usual range of beverages and wines. Owner speaks English well. Only problem is smoking policy: allowed after 1700h, which spoils the experience of dining for the majority non-smokers. Will certainly dine there again and hope smoking policy will change...

There are few better places to experience genuine Czech dishes (a range of stews, goulash and dumplings drowning in rich sauces - definitely not for those on a diet!), served in a historic log house. Enormous servings, moderate prices, efficient staff. Better make Reservations though - the place is popular and very, very crowded, especially in summer when cyclists are EVERYWHERE.

We were a party of 8 (adults and children) we came to have dinner after calling the restaurant in advance.
They were fully booked so they said it is possible to sit in the garden when a table will vacant.
We came and waited outside for 20 minutes (the waitress said that the table is finishing up and will be free in a few minutes). We waited patiently in the garden but when the group got up, another pair of people (that came after us) run to this table and just sat down!!! We told them that we were waiting for this table (they of course knew that but just rudely ignored this). We came to the waitress and explained the situation, and her answer was " who ever gets to the table first gets it!!! We were astonished by this of course, so we argued and asked for the manager, finally the rude couple felt embarrassed (everyone was looking) so they left.
After this unfortunate saga, we finally set down for our dinner.
The food was ok but nothing special, mediocre at most. The service was slow and inattentive. It took them more than an hour to bring ua the food, so overall it was a waste of time. We came there because of the good reviews and left disappointed.

Mikyna Coffee & Food Point

Reviewed By manderjones - England, United Kingdom

Mikyna prides itself on mouthwatering cakes and homemade dishes.
Its whitewashed walls and simple design sets the tone for some comfortable sipping and slurping their range of soups and freshly ground coffee. The Ethiopian coffee on offer is without doubt the star of the show. In accordance with their philosophy management don't change the coffee due to the idea that knowing how to prepare one well, is quite enough.
The pumpkin soup was thick and creamy, seasoned with sliced apple and chestnuts; a perfect Antidote for a nippy Bohemian winter. For 45 CZK the dish was nothing but good value and healthy.
The café sells chlebíčky (traditional Czech open sandwiches), with toppings such as egg mayo or cream cheese and chive. It is all too easy to devour these small yet scrumptious delights in the matter of a minute at 25 CZK a piece.
Mikyna, which can seat approximately 30 people, gets busy during weekends and draws a crowd of mainly locals all ages. Staff are happy to speak English and provide a good level of customer service.

Pivovarska Restaurant Svijany

Reviewed By Spirinetti - Prague, Czech Republic

I was amazed with this restaurant. I went there all because I liked their dark beer "Svijanska Kněžna" and my way was close to this restaurant. Since then I was there one more time with friend who visited me in Prague and with another friend I also plan to go there, although there are about 100km from my place in Prague!
You will have a great choice of Czech dishes there! And much cheaper than in Prague ))) The dinner for 4 persons took only 500 CZK.
And of course you will have a choice of 11 (!) kinds of this beer!
The staff is nice, however they usually don't speak English.
Next building is the brewery shop where you can buy not only beer, but also glasses, wear and souvenirs with Svijany symbols.
I highly recommend this place!
